Is it any good? What is it good and bad about it without giving away the plot?

It is as good a book as what other EU book?

Is this the cancelled continuation of Legends that never happened?

It starts good...and goes downhill very quickly. I did not finish it as I lost interest at a certain point. I would not recommend it, to be honest. There are better novels out there that you could spend your time reading, that are much more enjoyable as a whole.

I haven't bothered reading all of this, but I really really love the opening image of Luke mimicking Vader on the Tantive IV.

From what I read it actually felt a bit like some of the nu-canon post-ROTJ books in the tone it took and the attempt to immediately re-establish the Senate and end the war with negotiations.

Writing style seems very clunky which was the style back then I guess.

I've only read the end because of a cameo I was told about.
The cameo wasn't really that great.

Better or worse than SW EU Kevin J. Anderson?

I'm reading this right now. So far, I'm enjoying it. And one thing it's accomplished is making me realize how much I miss the original Expanded Universe.

I miss the legends material, that was real star wars to me.

Yeah me too. Some of the new stuff has been okay, but I'm just not getting the "it's all taking place in the same universe" vibe off of it.

    Have you read Resistance Reborn?

Also, Heart of the Jedi has "the 'it's all taking place in the same universe' vibe" because it was edited in 2014 or whatever. Originally it took place right after Endor and would have therefore contradicted Truce at Bakura, the Marvel comics, that one X-Wing comic, etc.

I got to tell you that I do not care too much about canon anymore. I just want good stories, not something that has to mix and match per say. I guess that's why I started really liking more Marvel.

Yeah I've read Resistance Reborn. They did a good job of mentioning previous works, but I'm still not getting that "all happening in the same continuity" vibe yet. Maybe now that the (ugh) sequels are over, they can get back to telling some good stuff.

Long and short of it is that a paperback version, I THINK self-published by the author, somehow ended up on Amazon. No idea of the legalities of it, but there you go. It's awesome that its gotten people talking like this.

It was shutdown by Bantam era production according to the author, who never accepted they requested it be written. Agent problems, I believe.

But whether Disney notices is another thing. I’m surprised that Amazon accepted it but there are ‘collections’ on Amazon that are just printouts of the Wookiepedia so eh.

It's not the author that's doing it. It's some random person.
