Reports btw are out there that the latest wave of Black Series figures that include Padme, Mudtrooper Han Solo, Drydon, Holdo, etc are now showing up at Target stores. Padme does indeed look much better in person, the angle on her press photo was just odd.

Really annoyed at both TVC trooper Han and TBS 6" Luke already being sold out.

 

The Celebration Obi Wan and Maul are good news. I really like the retro card backs and I'll try to get my hands on these when they are released. I'm glad that TPM's 20th anniversary got some recognition.

I'm not a lego collector, but the new sets are looking great. Slave I, in particular.

 

I really, REALLY want Obi-Wan but I'm not going to Celebration

 

Yeah, me neither. I'm just hoping that some get sold through the usual online outlets.

 

I am! I can't even guarantee I will be able to get myself a figure, but if I do, and I'm able to score extras, I'll let you know!

 

Apparently the plan is for 2-3 per year. So definitely just the core characters. I guess this could change if it takes off, but at this price point I hope they stay selective and spread out the releases.

I want to say I'm in, but I need to see how they handle a human character and the seemless "skin" first. Rumour is Luke and Rey are next in line, so hopefully we'll see one or both at Celebration.

I don't normally get statues of busts but I want this! Looks great!

I want to see humans also. Fingers crossed that they look good! So it looks like the Hyper-real figures have a metal frame on them. You can see pics here. The guys who took the photos were really impressed w/ the figure in person.

Rebelscum has large live photos of the Gentle Giant statues and busts. The Luke Mini-bust is impressive and looks great. Rey looks better in person also.


And btw - these are hilarious - Darth Vader Light Clapper and SW Chia Pets!

 

I'm interested in the Hyperreal line too but need to see faces before I decide to commit or not.

The Darth Vader clapper was on the shelf at Target last month. I think mine had two at the most.

 

Yeah, it's easier to nail the armored characters. But for $80 those faces had better look pretty darn good.

 

Did you watch the video I posted above? I'm not worried about the human faces.

 

I hadn't (Musta missed it. Guess that's what I get for always checking the boards right after a long, draining shift), but I just did. They've certainly come a long way w/this new tech, but what passes muster @ $20 might not @ $80, so I'll wait 'til I see the humans before I decide to dive in.
