Solo, I mean.

 

Or Luke's son. Because, why not?

 

Can't be Ben Solo, the timing isn't right - this character looks too young. So, new character, who's in Ep 9 but this covers origin?

 

Force Collector, Resistance Reborn, Allegiance, Spark of the Resistance would be the order of stories imo.

 

Allegiance I'll buy later in 2020 when it gets its inevitable OHC release.

 

Could this be a setup to Rey's eventual apprentice?

I'm guessing this is set on tatooine.

Looks like this is adding another saber user to the ST era if that is a hilt of one on his back.

Rey's Eventual apprentice (even know she should start with Elia from resistance )

Long Shot Ben solo

 

To young to be Matt Smith.

To close to Force Awakens to be Ben Solo.

With this book set before the New Republic got nuked, I hope we see at least a little of their presence.

 

Whoever he is, Kylo clearly pinches his sleeve like Cade stole Vader's pants that one time.

 

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Perhaps Episode IX will end with her gathering apprentices or something similar

 

Collector... ha! Bet he meets Kylo at odds about some artifacts they both want. At least after he discovered some other treasure that ties back to Luke and other known names to go full circle with telling history through objects here and there. Lotsa hints for future exploration.

Meet canons version of Zekk with the Force ability to find just the right stuff when it is needed.

Also I spot a lightsaber in his backpack. Looks familiar, whose? Prequel style i think.

Environment looks like Jakku or Epi9 leaked setpics from Jordan if a new world! And he spots wraps on arms akin to Rey. Though colorwise darker like Kylos suit. A nice mix and match. Maybe he is looting Palpatines old observatories for stuff!

Gaderfii in hand, maybe it is Tatooine after all, hmm. Very curious now!

 

This is interesting. I love stories about exploring the force. I wonder if this character will be Rey's future apprentice. I'm definitely excited to learn more.

 

What is interesting is that this book is part of the whole journey to IX thing their doing, but isn't set in the usual gap between 8 and 9.

Obviously their must be an important reason why this story was put a little before TFA.

There's no way it's Kylo. He's 29 in TFA and this book is set immediately prior. I think he has to be a new character

 

Based on how the last two "Journey to" sets of stories worked out in that respect, I don't think we can assume anything of the kind.

If it pans out that this does have a clear link to the film, great; but best to treat it as something on its own for now despite the full title.

 

A new character named Sen Bolo.

 

or Jacen Skywalker now that would spice things up! And wotc would have called it years ago!

Random speculation, but what if we're getting a string of non-movie origin stories for the Knights of Ren? And this is one?

 

With how much crap their Legacy has been given in the ST and if Rey NotSkywalker continues, I would be fine if they introduced Skywalker. This time to add some positives to its future.

One that came about in a relationship that later failed. She left him and took the kid/baby.

Though it would add another failure to Luke, at least the kid would be away when Ben Solo does his thing. Preventing his son from getting murderer or the First Order corrupting another Skywalker.
