Books A/V The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary

There was a lot of great info in the EGs...I especially loved the Atlas and Warfare. Just my 0.02...but they should have kept all the galactic history pre-TPM from them. Alsakan Conflict, Pius Dea Era, War with the Tion....all great stuff.

Here's a clearer version. As is the case with every other Visual Dictionary, the juicier stuff(new Mon Cal flagship, for example) is not shown on the cover.

And yes, it is indeed a TIE Dagger. The reddish hue on its wings makes me think it's related to the Sith Troopers.

The cover looks great. Good choice having the Knight of Ren on the front. And Rey looks

 

I have a feeling by the end of the ST will see A LOT of Harry Potter parallels, made up in our head or intentional.

 

I do hope the Knights get actual names.

 

I hope we see the tie interceptor and whatever knew tie models in Resistance season 2 in TRoS.

 

Oh I 100% believe will see that Tie they have at Batuu that was going to be used in the Trevorrow version in Resistance Season 2.

 

Holy crap this thing is massive. 200 pages this time, apparently!

 

I havent gotten the VDs recently. Dp they still do them hard cover? That might double as a self defense weapon.

 

Does the "With exclusive cross-sections" bit mean that, like with Rogue One, they are doing no separate Incredible Cross-Sections book, and putting all the content that would have gone in it, into the main Visual Dictionary book?

Is that considered a lot with the Cross Section?

 

It's about double the amount of a typical Visual Dictionary. And the Rogue One guide only had a few cross-sections. The sequels haven't had many cross-sections overall, so I don't see them constituting 100 pages.

I'd assume this one's going to be laid out more like the Rogue One and Solo guides; those had lots more pages for profiles of various background characters (like about 10 pages covering the extras on Jedha).

 

Like, half of the TFA cross section book was two page spreads of pictures from the movie. I love this format switch. No wasted pages.

Looking forward to this. I really hope there's a room off to the side of the extremely evil giant throne where Palpatine entertains guests. A nice fireplace, some art, a few comfy chairs, perhaps a breakfast nook.

I'm happy that very little has leaked. I am going into this movie with as little spoiler knowledge as possible.

Not that I wouldn't love to see a page about all the new capital ships.

It's honestly surprising that nothing ship-related has leaked yet. Hopefully there's at least one new design. We should be finding out soon with the VD leaks having started today.
