I should really read LotF again...I might appreciate it more for what it is than what it isn't---now that I know the end from the beginning. Maybe like we'll all look back at Season 8 of GOT in a decade and think...'you know, it really wasn't that bad.'

 

Depends on how GRRM ends the book series. Maybe.
But with Catelyn pretty much winning the Game of Thrones in death even though she broke a vow made to the Gods, I highly doubt I will look back fondly on that ending. Bran not doing jack the entire season, awarded the Throne, Sansa (Her favorite daughter) promising to keep Jon's heritage a secret, but telling Tyrion later that same episode. Sansa as Queen in the North, and Jon exiled to the Wall and beyond. Also, Sansa never told Jon about the Knights of the Vale. Rickon was probably dead regardless, but come on! And her deal with Littlefinger. Jon had his stupid points but did Sansa even give Daenerys a chance? Didn't a previous Sansa Stark marry her uncle? So Jon had nothing to worry about. But what do I know? I don't see the North surviving on it's own for long. And with the other Kingdoms, Dorne and the Iron Islands in particular are going to revolt sooner rather than later imo.
Though a couple more tv series' are coming, aren't they?

 

I think so, but I can't be bothered to care. ASOIF is the only other series besides the EU that I've ever felt 'vested' in, and both left me feeling dismayed and disappointed. I can only hope that the books treat Dany's demise better than the show.

 

I know I'm diverting the conversation but I have a question. Does Vonduun Crab Armor grab onto you the same sort of way that Embass suit in Mercy Kill (the one that Turman wore) does?

I'm thinking of it almost for a minor plot point in something I'm working on.

Thanks, Sinre I was wanting to run with the concept of how would someone react if one of those suits would grab you somewhere unexpected.

I tend to reread things because I don't get everything on the first pass. That allows me to discover, or rediscover things I missed. Then again I also do it for research in case I need something specific.

 

I know they hurt a lot when you take them off.

Yeah, the Vong are really kinky like that.
