We never really did find out if there were any ramifications of Admiral Janeway's actions from Voyager's Endgame finale.

I hope Frakes is keeping the crazy professor look when playing Riker.

Well, the fact that she was promoted to Admiral between EG & Nemesis would suggest that there weren't for her.

According to TV Tropes, it's a popular theory that this was her being "kicked upstairs":

Janeway should kick down the door wielding a phaser rifle in the final scene saying "I heard there was a Borg problem!" "We solved it, Admiral." "Dangit!"

I did also read somewhere that the destruction of Romulus may be what sent Picard fleeing to the vineyards. haven't read Countdown in a while but I know he was involved in those events along with Spock an Data (yah that book also had Data back as B-4 became Data). I'd love it if they somehow worked in a Nero and Narada cameo but I think that's unfeisable for a lot of reasons (the still split CBS/Paramount for starters) but maybe the Picard countdown comic will get into it.

I'd really like it if the Romulans living and working with Picard were Admiral Jarok's family.

So those are officially Romulans in the trailer? Cuz they ditched the TNG forehead ridges again but their heads look a bit bigger so it looks like they're going with the non-tat Star Trek (2009) design.

Right. This was the awesomeness that we saw at NYCC. January 23rd.

That ending make me tear up a little; not afraid to admit it.

    - Ass-kicking Seven of Nine!
    - We're meant to (now) think that the destruction of Romulus isn't what drove Picard to resign? (as I'd previously been saying?)
    - Is there anything to the fact that Data's hair in what appears to be a dream is... Romulan bowl-cut seemingly?

I had the same reaction watching it the first time.

I think Data's hair is just a bad hairpiece on Spiner's head.

Wow, beautiful. Cannot wait. I was in my early teens when Jean Luc and co burst on to the scene so this feels extra special.

They gave away far far too much in this new trailer. I did not need to know who else was showing up from older shows. Way too much info. Those would have been great surprises.

I won't watch the trailer but I am interested in the show. I feel I have seen enough of TNG to understand it at least.

Yeah I definitely got more of a "that wig doesn't work in HD" vibe than anything sinister.

Well, that trailer certainly raises a very interesting Fleet Junkie question

(trailer spoiler tagged for solo's benefit)

Is that an original Romulan BOP during a flashback/time travel? One brought back into service post-destruction of Romulus (with the Empire needing whatever ships hey can find)? Or a modern version currently in service? or, perhaps, an older model now in 3rd party hands?

Now, clearly it isn't the same model as the Balance of Terror prototype since it lacks the plasma weapon on the front, but this could be a production line model of sorts.

Would that Nemesis had been written by Nicholas Meyer and directed by Frakes. Certainly would have been a far better sendoff than it was in reality.

I think it's been brought back into service after the destruction of Romulus because of possible incursions by the Klingons, which may use the weakened state of the Star Empire for conquest.

And that could fit into the possible future in "All Good Things..." After all, the Klingons had conquered the Romulans in that time.

It seems like it's intended to evoke the early TNG flag officer uniforms a bit

however, the badge is rather unchanged. I liked the various Alternate Future badge variants.
