I just want a Tom Bombadil cartoon! With live-action segments of Goldberry singing original songs.

I haven't completed either. Both are challenging reads for differing reasons. From what I know of the universes and have read of the books I prefer LotR but that is thus far solely based on elements included like presentation, linguistics, and world-building. Honestly, I don't much care for the story of either.

Pretty sure in the end, LotR will be better, because it'll still be, you know, finished.

I read Game of Thrones for the first time, and I'm almost done with reading the entire book of Fellowship of the Ring for the first time (I've never been able to read the entire thing).

GoT is the much better book, no contest.

The ASOIAF books are more entertaining to be sure. On the other hand, they will never be finished :(

I know we live in an age in which everything is open to debate.
On one side we have one of the most influential stories ever written in modern times, whose author is generally considered the father of modern fantasy, on the other side we have a bunch of decently written books.

I can suggest a new comparison: Crime and Punishment or Twilight?
    What a tough call !

I feel like lord of the rings is more fantasy and game of thrones is more political but I haven’t read either I read the hobbit a long time ago
