Whatever the future of the Jedi is, I’d be more optimistic for SW if that future is one that has lots of them because I’m tired of them being dead or hiding from the big bad empire.

Do you all think LFL would really make a movie set after the events of TROS that would include three or more Jedi? Also what would that movie be about?

It doesn't sound like Daisy has any interest in returning to the franchise so if LFL does tell a story about the formation of the Jedi Council 2.0 Rey isn't going to be an active participant in that story. Rey's absence might actually create some interesting story opportunities. With Rey not around to help train new Jedi they could tell a story about a group of Force sensitives seeking each other out and trying to figure out how to use their powers while also deciding how to work together. Should the Jedi form a council? Will they decide to operate more like a superhero team? Will they go it alone?

I think I'd prefer to see the creation of a new Jedi group rather than getting a movie where the Jedi have been up and running for years and there's a zillion of them running out with lightsabers.

That said, and this is based nothing but my gut, but I feel like LFL are maybe a bit skittish or simply not interest in telling stories set in post TROS universe right now. I have a feeling that all we're going to get for the next few years are prequels and then maybe ten or twenty years down the road they'll lure Daisy and the ST cast to do a movie set after TROS.

If Lucasfilm makes a movie about the formation of the Jedi, it's going to focus on the origins of the original Jedi Order, not the post-IX Jedi. I'd bet money on that. Any movies we get that are post-ST I think will be set at least a hundred years afterwards, so the immediate aftermath can be freely explored in other media likes books, comics, video games, etc.

I think you're probably right. It's probably more enticing to LFL to create a set of movies focused on the original Jedi rather than the origin story of the Jedi 2.0. They'll sell the Jedi origin story by saying, "now that you've seen the end of one saga...now it's time to see how it all began!"

And again if they're going to tell the origins of the Jedi I doubt they'd then turn around and make a movie or a trilogy about origins of the Jedi 2.0.

Also yeah considering that LFL is more focused on prequels I could see them setting post TROS movies way in the future in part so they can spend the next thirty years filling in the blanks with prequels, prequels, prequels. Plus setting the movies way in the future answers why Rey, Finn and Co. aren't around.

We could however see Chewie, BB-8, and Baby Yoda.

Here's something I'm betting a lot people would hate but I think could be fun: a Force sensitive character that's irreverent and a bit of a jokester who uses the Force in humorous ways. I won't want it to get too slapsticky but a little physical humor by way of the Force could be amusing. For instance I'm thinking they could use the Force to answer the door and pour a drink for a guest when somebody pays them a visit. They could use the Force to pull up a seat or a footrest. They could use a mind trick to make two enemies run into each other. Something along those lines.

I'm thinking this character wouldn't be a Jedi because they found the Jedi life too uptight and constricting. At the same time this character wouldn't be morally ambiguous or flirting with the dark side. They'd definitely be a good guy/gal. I'd also think that the Jedi would look down on this character a little for being what they consider immature but they begrudgingly admit that this person can be helpful at times so they put up with them.

Makes me think of Kiga Koyata in 13 ASSASSINS:
Hanbei Kitou: Who are you? You're no samurai.
Kiga Koyata: So what? Do only samurai matter in this world? I thought samurai would be fun but you bore me.

Dreaded they will turn The Force in comic-book superpower with no consistency, rules and laws.
Lucas kept the balance on the short leash. Nothing too fancy, nothing that can create the massive balance holes.

I still think even with TLJ and what will happen in TROS, the force is not yet urned into a super power, like Luke says in TLJ to Rey about the force. KK has said the same thing i believe and the stories going forward will be stories of the force with jedi.

As far as powers go I'd like to see them introduce Force powers that we haven't been seen in the films before. I like how Cal in Jedi Fallen Order could use the Force to recall other peoples memories.

That's not new tough, a jedi in clone wars series did that and Rey does that also in TFA and in TROS if we are to believe the leaks.
What i like to see is a force power that slows time for just a few seconds or make them invincible for short time. or a force shield.

I can't speak to the TROS leaks but Rey's Forceback isn't initiated by her. It's something that happens to her. In Jedi Fallen Order Cal initiates the Force echos. He can control when the echos happen. It might be cool to see a Force power like that in a film. It would come in handy if that character is looking for clues. Kal also has the ability to slow down time for a short time which gives him an advantage in combat or when trying to access certain environments that are blocked by spinning fans or whatnot. Seeing a character use that in a film would be cool too.

Seems like there's a lot they could mine from the old EU:

I do kinda like the idea of different Jedi specializing in different powers. So if you had a team of Jedi being sent into battle you might have a healer, a stealth person, a master manipulator, etc...

I hope we get more of force defense from force lightning like Yoda in the prequels. Jedi healer is very intresting to me, they specialise in healing victims and saving them? a stealth person might just be a good jedi, a mster manipulator might go against the jedi code so i don't know of that. I hope with thee ancient jedi books we will see mutch more force powers used in the movies post TROS.

I guess when I say master manipulator I was thinking of somebody that might be able to do a Jedi mind trick on a large group of people rather than one or two storm troopers.

To avoid the Jedi from being too overpowered I'd say that the writers should establish that it takes a lot of time and training to become a specialist of one of these powers, so each Jedi picks a power to specialize in, sorta like a how a college student picks a major. All Jedi will learn the basics but to really excel in one specific power padawans have to major in that power, so to speak.

Both of these have in a way happened with Disney Star Wars. The sequel trilogy has already done this.

Really like the idea of non-combat "Jedi" profession. There could be many ways use the force to enhance your talents not everyone has to be a swordsman.

Next go-round, they need a solid Employee Assistance Program in place to prevent padawans who are having PTSD-induced nightmares a better way to deal with things other than falling to the Dark Side.
Yoda's "just learn to let go" stuff has already been shown to not be an effective therapeutic approach.

I think it would be cool to abandon train them when they’re kids only and have people like in there 20s discovering there force powers, I think rey might set up a new training thing and her first student would be finn that would be so cool.

I like the fact that at the end of TROS balance was achieved by the ultimate absence of both Jedi and Sith in power. So tbh, I want neither to really return atm.
