Sequels, by twelve parsecs. Maybe fourteen. Mainly because the ST had characters I liked. Only character I liked in the PT was QGJ. And he died in the first one. Oh... ummm… spoiler alert?

Sequels, but I still have a soft spot for AOTC since Jango Fett and Slave I are in it.

Prequels because it has Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I like the Sequels better, mostly for the new characters. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac really are great and work so well together.

And it was fun seeing the OT folks reprise their roles. Lando is excellent in this latest one.

I loved the casting choices of the ST. With the PT I think there's a combination of terrible casting and terrible writing, but I like every casting choice of the ST with the notable exception of Domhnall Gleeson who is uniformly awful in all three movies. Fortunately he doesn't have much screen time.

The prequels, because they have by far the best writing of the whole trilogy and also the most developed universe. Plus the themes that were added to the saga here are among the very best.

Well the PT adds a lot to the universe , and the stories are better . The ST has more spark and less embarassing stuff.
TPM is an unwatchable movie for me , but I've watched AOTC and ROTS loads more than I'll ever watch the sequels.

so at the moment I'd say the PT.

PT. I don't even care for the ST to make a consideration for it

Sequel Trilogy because despite how much I dislike TROS, it still has better dialogue than the entire PT combined.

Prequels. At least they were somewhat cohesive as far as a story was concerned.

Sequel Trilogy was a terrible waste of potential.

    Fight me.

Both, TPM is the best of the bunch, but AOTC and ROTS being so terrible make up for the ST to level up.

I'd probably watch TPM over TROS, but I say, ask me in a month or two.

On the one hand, I think TROS is the #3 best Star Wars movie. On the other hand, ROTS is #4 (the first half has some silly moments that lower it, but is made up for by an excellent second half).

    ;)

I think I've seen both of those the same number of times in the cinema - I caught TPM when it was re-released in 3D here. And I've seen TRoS twice so far - one 2D and one 3D.

How does TROS compare in 3D vs 2D?

The Sequels had no potential, because the height of their ambition was remaking the OT. As it turns out, they didn't even do that well.

I really enjoyed the 3D showing I went to yesterday. I thought it had more detail for
    the area where Palpy was
. That part was a bit dark in 2D.

This was a key point. There was a cohesive vision throughout the trilogy, with a clear sense of where things were going and where everything had to end up. Lucas could take his time between movies, releasing 3 movies over 6 years, unlike Disney, which released 5 movies in a 4-year span between December of 2015 and December 2019 - diluting the magic. The secondary characters introduced in the PT were far more interesting than any and all of the secondary characters in the ST. There were a lot more interesting new creatures and vehicles, better "race" sequences and better new themes added.

I haven't seen TROS yet, but, man, if it is bad enough that I end up liking the prequel trilogy better, I will probably jump off a bridge or something.
