Good point. But the prophecies didn't come directly from " the force" it came from people who were naive enough to think they could interpret the force.

Actually in this case as Anakin says he is the chosen one in TROS and force ghosts are actually all knowing of the future and the past he does know he is the chosen one. It can’t really be “certain point of view”

Green and red don't make yellow. And her lightsaber is actually kind of gold. Pretty cool scene if you ask me. I agree with everything else.

When did Dooku do that as a Jedi?

    ^ This.

Anakin is the Chosen One, regardless of what happens in TROS. There was no lack of balance in the Force when he was born. But there was lack of balance when Palpatine killed almost all the Jedi and sunk the galaxy into darkness. The Force was not at balance for however long the Emperor was ruling the Galaxy, and balance was restored when Anakin threw the Emperor into the shaft.

Palpatine never had any control of the galaxy in TROS. He was a growing and increasing menace. His fleet hadn't even left the Exegol system. Whatever Rey did, is minimal compared to what Anakin (with the help of Luke, Leia and Han) did in ROTJ. And yeah, I can totally support what someone mentioned as non-GL material as non-canon. As far as I am concerned now that everything is said and done, the Sequel trilogy is just Legends canon. Disney can claim whatever they want. Money doesn't determine these things.

PS. The Mortis story arc confirms that Anakin is the Chosen One.

The Clone Wars has Anakin deal directly with the force The Father, the Son and the Daughter all acknowledge him to be the Chosen One

Correct that along with Anakin’s line in TROS point very clearly to him being the chosen one

If this is the case the play is written and its boring. The only thing that is a mystery is how you get there. That is not as interesting as a real story. The force ghosts may think highly of themselves just like the Jedi do. In the end they don't know everything. Its the same concept as the pope is closer to god. Many believe that. I don't have an issue with that. Many people do. But those that do weigh his words as more important because they think he is closer to god. What he says goes. A force ghost or whomever can say what they want. That in the ends means nothing.

Well now it seems your dislike is with the very premise of the story. I dont know where to go from there.
May the Force be with you

No they literally know everything. You may not like the concept and that’s fine but Qui Gon knows that Obi Wan is going to die soon when he talks to him shortly before a new Hope in canon. Qui Gon can literally see the past a d present at the same time as a force ghost. A force ghost would know if the prophecy is true or not.

I dislike the idea that the story is written before it begins before it is told. That is the point of prophecies. In general movies and books don't like to follow that line because whats the point. You just told us a story that we knew was going to happen. May the force be with you as well.

Force ghost don't know everything. And it they did they would tell people like Ren everything instead of letting it happen and people dying. Thats the problem with people who are all powerful and know everything. They don't.

I don't see how anyone can make the conclusion that Force Ghosts know everything, including the future and the past.
There is nothing in canon material that confirms this.

Because everything that he thinks he knows or sees probably doesn't come to reality. The force works in mysterious ways does it not? We know that force ghosts can influence current events whether its Yoda and Ben talking to Luke or the current movie with Luke grabbing a lightsaber. They are literally interfering in the actual real world. Now have they been told to do this or are they making a decision to try and steer someone toward doing something that is right? Thats where this becomes convoluted.

Lucas isn't a character in the play.

    Would they, now?

Anakin was brought to a mythical planet and had his chosen one status verified by 3 force gods. The Morris arc didn’t exactly leave much room for interpretation on that particular subject.

As for the prophecy itself, perhaps it’s a bit more complicated than simply killing the right person. Maybe he had to become one with the force in order to fully repair the damage done by the Sith over the last millennia. It would explain why he became a FG so quickly after his death since the job wasn’t quite done yet.

Because Lucas writes characters who believe in prophecies doesn't mean he is steering it all to make the prophecy become reality. If this is what you like some linear prophecy story thats written and told before you even see it then more power to you. And if Lucas wanted it a certain way I feel for him. But he sold the rights.

    LOL....you're funny.

"In The Phantom Menace one of the Jedi Council already knows the balance of The Force is starting to slip, and will slip further. It is obvious to this person that The Sith are going to destroy this balance. On the other hand a prediction which is referred to states someone will replace the balance in the future. At the right time a balance may again be created, but presently it is being eroded by dark forces." ~George Lucas, Time Magazine, 2002
    ------------------------
"... and in the time of greatest despair,
there shall come a savior, and he shall
be known as The Son of The Sun."

    Journal of the Whills, 3:127

    --------------------------
Many people wonder who the real Chosen One is, and I want to know whether it's Luke or Anakin Skywalker?

While I imagine this was one of those subjects meant to spark debate and discussion, George Lucas has stated in interviews that Anakin Skywalker is indeed the Chosen One. As far as the prophecy goes, Anakin brings balance to the Force since it is he who disposes of the imbalance. That is, he kills Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi. Sure, Luke is the catalyst for this turn of events, but it is ultimately Anakin who makes the choice.
    ---------------------------
"The part I am working on now [ROTJ] is mostly about Darth Vader, who he is, where he came from, how he became Luke and Leia's father, what his relationship to Ben is. In Jedi, the film is really about the redemption of this fallen angel.. Ben is the fitting good angel, and Vader is the bad angel who started off good. All these years Ben has been waiting for Luke to come of age so that he can become a Jedi and redeem his father. That's what Ben has been doing, but you don't get this in the first film." - George Lucas: Annotated Screenplays
    ---------------------------
    Should Anakin have been trained?

"GL: I think it is obvious that he was wrong in Episode 1 and made a dangerous decision, but ultimately this decision may be correct. The Phantom Menace refers to the force of the dark side of the Universe. Anakin will be taken over by dark forces which in turn destroy the balance of the Galaxy, but the individual who kills the Emperor is Darth Vader - also Anakin. The tale meanders and both the prediction, and Qui-Gonn are correct - Anakin is the chosen one, and he did bring peace at last with his own sacrifice. Luke couldn't kill the Emperor himself, but he could make Anakin reflect on his life and kill the Emperor."

    -------------------------
"Sam Davatchi's website reports that George Lucas told a reporter for Studio Magazine that Anakin is indeed the one who brings balance to the force. In this interview, Lucas said that Anakin vanquished the Emperor and brought balance to the Force, although he did need help from Luke to do so. In addition, Lucas said that Anakin is the only person who could do that, because he is the only one who had enough power and was close enough to the emperor to destroy him. As pointed out by Cinescape Online, this fits into the following statement made by Lucas in the Making of Episode I book: "The mystery around [the chosen one] theory is that we don't know yet whether the chosen one is a good or bad person. He is to bring balance to the Force; but at this point, we don't know what side of the Force needs to be balanced out." (6/18/99)."
    --------------------------
    1. In general, what will the New Trilogy be about?

"The first film starts with the last age of the Republic; which is it's getting tired, old, it's getting corrupt. There's the rise of the Sith, who are now becoming a force, and in the backdrop of this you have Anakin Skywalker: a young boy who's destined to be a very significant player in bringing balance back to the Force and the Republic.

In the second film, we get into more of that turmoil. It's the beginning of the Clone Wars, it's the beginning of the end of democracy in the Republic, sorta the beginning of the end of the Republic, and it's Anakin Skyalker beginning to deal with some of his more intense emotions of anger, hatred, sense of loss, possessiveness, jealousy, and the other things he's coping with.

Then we will get to the 3rd film, where he is seduced to the dark side, which brings up to films four, five, and six, where Anakin's offspring redeem him allowing him to fulfill the prophecy where he brings balance to the Force by doing away with the Sith and getting rid of evil in the universe.
    - George Lucas - from the American ANH VHS tape in the making of Episode II in the 2000 release.

"Lucas: The midi-chlorians have brought Anakin into being as 'the chosen one' who brings balance to the universe." - The Making of Episode 1, Random House, 1999.

It justifies, because you know Anakin and Obi-Wan have it out, but Anakin is the chosen one-he is supposed to be the best. But he comes out on the shorter end of the stick in the fight. It justifies it really nicely as the fight progresses." - http://www.latinoreview.com/films_2005/fox/episodeIII/haydenon-ep3.html[/URL]]

It's presented that way in the movies, but it's clear that it applied to Anakin. The Jedi are shown to have doubts when it comes to Anakin and the prophecy (Ep.1 and 3), but that's because the audience knows what the characters don't, he fulfills it by the end. Even though Disney is in control now, George Lucas already went on record clearing things up. Anakin is definitively the chosen one, and Lucas hasn't changed his stance on it as of Star Wars Rebels, according to Dave Filoni. He's also been very adamant on the Emperor staying dead, it's clear that Anakin was meant to end him for good.

And in The Rise of Skywalker, Anakin's voice says "restore balance, as I did.". So even in the context of the ST, the Chosen One prophesy is considered Fulfilled by Anakin.

Yeah Anakin balanced the Force, for less than a single generations lifetime and the same evil was still alive and masterminding things anyway. What a "victory"

Honestly, I hated the Chosen One thing the first time around. BUT, it's there and these films just undo it completely, only to triple-down by making Rey essentially the "true Chosen One." They took the worst route possible imho.

I don’t know even know how this is a debate.

In clone wars this is clearly covered. It’s clearly covered by Lucas.

Anakin brings about the destruction of the EMPIRE which had been in place for a generation after destroying the Jedi.

Rey defeated an undead EMPEROR in the unknown regions who had demonstrated comparably little devastation on the GFFA compared to the EMPIRE who controlled politics, security and trade routes when in power.

    They aren’t even comparable.

I should have said Palpatine or Sidious then. In TROS what is he the Emperor of? His fantasy of a comeback?

threat he is, emperor he is not.

and btw, I believe he thinks he is “the Senate”
