Yikes, so did I. I had no idea - which was probably his intent. Ugh.

 

The accusation of rape comes not from the victim but from an anonymous blogger... hrm. I'm not saying it couldn't be true, of course it could. But that's a bit of an opaque way to make a claim about someone else's experience.

 

Yeah it's not exactly one of those cases where it's her word against his if there aren't any substantiated accounts of her telling anyone about the encounter? Has there been any Ronan Farrow level investigation of the case or direct accounts of people who learned about this from Natalie? Not that I don't believe it could have happened.

 

Natalie’s sister Lana has said she was raped, but not by who.

 

So, yeah, published second-hand testimony (by her sister) in the NYT that she was raped in full Harvey Weinstein mode. Lured to a hotel with the promise of an audition. It would have to have been someone important.

 

Considering we're talking about condolences made in the half joke-y death thread about what is ultimately some guy I didn't know and saw in some films I liked, an ambiguous situation is enough for me to say "I shouldn't have gone with the quote I did." I don't necessarily besmirch anyone who reaches a different conclusion given the incredibly complex rationales that could theoretically be involved. Thank you, this has been my TED talk.

I don't know - at least it was quick. Better than having something like a stroke or cancer and suffering. (My dad died from cancer).

 

Bean's wife is actress Ally Mills, who was the mom on The Wonder Years and currently is on the soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

Actor Kevin Conway also passed away on Wednesday of a heart attack.

Wild Wild West was one of my favorite shows in syndication on after-school network tv when I was a kid. I remember watching his world war two pacific war squadron show too on prime time whatever it was called.

 

Sad to hear about Robert Conrad. Jim West.
