Since moving to NJ I have learned the one true benefit of residing here is that I can let the autopilot Dem-leaning electoral college do the dirty work of electing whoever the Democratic nominee is while I don't sell my soul just to vote "Not Trump".

I can maintain a clean conscience while writing in "The Seahag from Popeye" and it will be magically transformed into a vote for Biden, whether I want it to or not.

I can't believe we're getting the "least worst option" lecture again. As if there is anyone alive who hasn't already heard it.

I honestly don't know. It's between Biden and a write in for Bernie. I might have been able to talk myself into Biden given how he or his aides helped my mother immigrate into this country, but the rape accusations and his refusal to even consider M4A in the middle of a pandemic have me very sour on him. Particularly as I've been laid off and lost my healthcare insurance and now am paying a lot for COBRA. My girlfriend might be able to talk me into Biden, like she did for Cuomo but that's about it.

The Electoral College will never be dismantled. It's too important a tool for the Republican Party.

Being Californian my vote for President doesn't matter, but if I'm feeling particularly Pragmatic I may just fill in the box for Biden. The sexual assault allegation would make that an even more difficult thing to do than I had originally thought. Most likely I'll vote for the Peace and Freedom (local socialist party) candidate.

Since my votes for other offices and ballot measures do/can matter, I'm not ever going to skip voting.

Biden. My state is, per at least one source, one of four that might make or break the results. I voted Bernie in the primary which I think everyone here knows, but when I said that in November I will vote for the last turd I scooped out of my cat’s box if it runs against Trump, I meant it.

I hope those of you in swing states will join me. I won’t waste my time telling you that you “have to” though.

I'm in Florida. There's no ****ing chance I'm not voting in the presidential election, and it will be for Biden.

There's only one way to dismantle it, and that's by demonstrating that the Electoral College is not leading to democratic outcomes. Look at how the last election lead to calls to abolish the EC. If it happens again by larger margins, then we'll generate greater political impetus for doing this.

Biden if Utah is somehow in play. Write-in Romney if not.

I live in MA. Which will most certainly go for Biden. My preferred candidates - Bernie and Warren - are out And as much as I'd like to write in their names, to continue supporting progressive causes, I really want Trump to lose. And lose big. I don't just want the electoral college vote, I want the popular vote to decimate him. It needs to be a total refusal of the Trump Republican brand so that he cannot claim voter fraud (which he will undoubtedly) or allow him any other shenanigans. I certainly don't agree with Biden on everything. But that's reality now.

I don't care for Biden. He's a doddering old fool who should have been shuffled off to a nursing home years ago.

Yet, I cannot stand Trump.... and that hurts because when it comes to policy, I tend to be more on the conservative side of things.
But...Trump is not a conservative. Trump is a showman first and foremost; he's what you'd get if you took PT Barnum, but removed all of Barnum's business acumen and the ability to empathize with various people.

That being said... right now I'm leaning towards Libertarian again. BUT, I will happily vote Biden if he chooses a VP to my liking in the hopes that he'll get 25th'd.

It would have to be a Constitutional amendment. In which it would have to be passed through both houses of Congress and then ratified by the legislatures of a minimum of 38 states.

Folks have been criticizing the EC since Andrew Jackson lost to John Quincy Adams, nearly 200 years ago.
Needless to say, it's probably not going anywhere.

As usual, I'll just try to figure out which candidate will do the least amount of damage in the office.

The best way to get rid of the EC is to get rid of the entire Constitution, which would require a Revolution that destroys the filthy, evil and corrupt US Government. Which is what should happen, but never will happen.

Some other nation is going to have to step up and replace America. This country is a lost cause and is harmful to the World and the human race.

    America is filth.

Last political post in thread. I've made my say, and know I'm outnumbered. So won't bother saying anything else. We will agree to disagree.

But please, one the best things about this nation is that if you wish to leave, you can. Lot of people want in, great. Want out? You have that right.

    Thanks.
