Biden, although I am in a Deep Blue state and I could conceivably write-in someone without it hurting things. I just won't risk it even if it is sort of selling your soul. If anything the Democratic primary this year should be the final lesson that positive change will never come from the ballot box, at best the Democrats can slow down the descent into fascism(and they can't even do that right really)

People still use the "if you don't love it, leave it" thing? I thought that died after the Iraq War went south.

Since that was your last political post, let me turn it around on you.

You couldn't leave if you wanted to. You don't have the finances to do it, and you don't have the ability to get an immigration visa.

Think about that the next time you try to show someone the door. If the shoe was on the other foot, you'd be helpless.

The main Star Wars villain agrees with you.

Bernie Sanders ain’t a neo-lib. And he’ll be urging all his followers to vote for Biden. This has nothing to do with neoliberalism vs. progressivism or socialism, and everything to do with kicking a right-wing fascist out of the White House. It’s an existential issue for many, and not at all a question of ideology.

Trump's ardent supporters aren't capable of thinking about the costs associated with moving to another country, both financial and emotional.

We're talking about a demographic of people statistically unlikely to have ever left their own state, let alone visit another country. People who insist that America had a revolving door immigration policy prior to the Trump administration, rather than it having always had one of the most stringent and invasive border control policies in the world, while also being ignorant of how difficult it is to cross the border of any other country.

The fact is that if moving countries was that easy, there would have been a sizeable exodus of Americans to Canada post-2016.

Look I don't know how else to tell you this, but Trump is not a good man at all, and he's the worst president in the history of the country. He's destroying everything America is supposed to stand for, and there is nothing "great" about that at all. You shouldn't be supporting him.

Autumnl is classic trump voter material. cishet white christian man with no higher education in a low tax bracket. he won't be able to articulate anything beyond Trump's own talking points and will vote against his interests as people in his position have historically done. This is not surprising if you have ever read a post he's made.

I have read his posts, and I think he's extremely misguided. I'll just leave it at that.

America stands for geopolitical hegemony and toxic capitalism. It has always stood for these.

Other people have covered this already but.,,I’ve priced what it would cost time and money wise to move to Canada or New Zealand, and no, I can’t “just leave.” Especially not with a pandemic happening.

...incidentally, this is why a lot of us push back against the “why don’t they just come here legally?” argument in reference to people who are escaping extreme poverty and governments run by gangs. We don’t think people who are that desperate should have to wait months or years and “find” hundreds or thousands of dollars. Topic for a different thread though.

    One would think.

Funny how it seems the 'love it or leave' group are often the ones bitching about others not loving their country and leaving it for the USA.

Great, I'll just quit my essential job in the middle of a pandemic, walk away from my family responsibilities and all of my friends and all of my possessions and use the vast amounts of wealth I've saved up living paycheck to paycheck in order to insert myself into the labyrinthine immigration bureaucracy of some other country where I have no contacts, no experience, don't speak the language and, after spending months in a bureaucratic nightmare, unable to work or eat or support myself, hopefully get accepted (or maybe get rejected and have to start again with a new country lol!) and move in and get a job and a place to live real quickly. In the middle of a pandemic.

Wow, thanks for really cutting through all the fake news and letting me see just how easy it would be to entirely change my life in order to solve all my problems. Thanks for reminding me of America's true greatness. As the richest and most powerful country in the world, if people are suffering, America will stand up proudly and tell them to get the **** out.

    ******' seriously. Get a ******' brain.

This ******* pandemic is on my last nerve today, I swear. I got a possible fever reading earlier when I took my temperature. I've taken it twice since then and both of those have been fine, so I think it was a bad reading, but I'm gonna be honest, it scared the **** out of me. So I'm no mood for this bull****.

If I was American I would vote Green.

Is the US really as great and cool as she is shown in American films? As far as I get it, it seems to depend on where and who you are. Just like in Europe. Or everywhere else.

More than 100,000 Americans will die thanks to his unparalleled stupidity, not sure how funny that is. Would it be funny if you or a loved one were dying or had died of covid?

The notion of Trump getting elected was funny in the summer of 2016. It wasn't funny anymore that autumn.
