Okay so since you're a Gaullist, you should understand the attachment that people have to national symbols like the flag, right? Shouldn't you find it extremely worrying when right-wing radicals hijack and pervert these symbols for their own ends?

 

I do find it bothersome. But it's still my flag, and I am indeed attached to it, notably because of the revolutionary symbolism behind it. I'm not giving it up to them.

 

Well unfortunately here in the states, liberals have already given up the flag to the far right.

 

Turns out that sign isn't fake, by which I mean it isn't photoshopped and is an actual picture of a sign in someone's yard. But it is intended as a joke, not seriously. Some anti-Trump activist who is known for putting up joke signs in his yard.

There are things I would not joke about. Even if supposedly sarcastic, I would still take it down, or better would not have put it up in the first place.

 

I would agree with that, I think. This guy also got in trouble for public obscenity when he put up a sign in his yard with a large drawing of Trump and Putin having sex, so he is not, you know, one of the best and brightest of the anti-Trump activists.

 

Yeah I mean as a Christian, idolatry towards anything is serious to me. Towards the government/President, definitely not a laughing matter because it's all too real.
