    I mean maybe, but what would you propose? They not comment on things? That’s why they are here. I doubt any of them are here just because they want to moderate.

    I personally try not to moderate any incidents that occur in direct dispute with me or in conversations in which I am one of a few active people, and I know several of us share that philosophy. That is why there are multiple moderators in each forum.

    But yeah, we aren’t going to not be active on the boards and we aren’t going to not have opinions.

    Since I'm relatively new to being a Forum Moderator I will tend to defer to the more Senior Forum Mods. As far as interacting in the Forum I Mod for, as anakinfan stated, I'm still a fan myself, so yeah I'm going to weigh in on topics.

    I personally think this is a horrible, nasty and mean spirited thread - and the time it took to create it could have been spent on an inclusive discussion that everyone here can enjoy and join in on.

    Look at it this way. I think at one point or another we all might have had problems with some or maybe even all moderators, but I can say as someone who has been on forums with no moderation the benefits outweigh the negatives by about 50 tons. If a moderator made a decision that I disagreed with I would take that 10/10 times over not having moderators. If we didn’t have moderators all you would see is people sharing links to virus’s or just straight up porn.

    As a family friendly site you need to have moderators to keep it family friendly, plus even if the site was not “marketed” for a lack of a better word as family friendly moderators would still be needed as they can help enforce copyright and other legal matters by banning users.
