Celebration Anaheim 2022: What will they unveil?

I definitely want a movie or series that gives us Jedi and acrobatic action ala the prequels.

 

Good for Newsom. And the UFC should be renamed the Ultimate Fools Club after this. Ba dum tish!

At leas it is postponed and not cancelled.

 

It's for the best: even if they still do it online (and I think they will as people slowly recover from the pandemic) they'll have to wait till next year at the very least.

People come first.

 

Definitely for the best. I couldn't imagine them being able to even get the talent to go to an event like that for at least a year. Seriously. Imagine being told "Hi yes, this weekend you're going to take photos in close proximity to four thousand fans from all over the world, please be friendly and accommodating to everyone."

It'd be a potential death sentence for someone like Mark Hamill. Just... take some time off. Come back when it's time.

 

Doing it online is essentially releasing trailers and interviews on YouTube.

 

Still suprised it’s not cancelled yet.

I think we would have gotten high republic news and a Mando season 2 trailer.

 

I hope so, i would hate not getting some celebration news.

 

An online Celebration could still be really fun. I just can't imagine they'd be able to do half the fan activities that make an in-person con so much fun. No autographs, photos, etc, and seating for panels would be incredibly difficult given cdc guidelines. They won't announce the cancellation until their forced to for insurance reasons, but I just don't see it going ahead at this point.

 

Celebration for me has always been reading the Forum and Twitter posts by people raving about going to a panel, then looking at YouTube to see terrible illegal phone videos before they are taken down, then watching the official trailer.

 

I wonder if we will get anything on the new films at all. With Taika's Thor coming in 2022 and his SW movie arriving not earlier than 2024, it does not look likely we are going to get any details this year.

 

Yeah, so a "virtual" con wouldn't actually be that great a change for me. In fact, it would be an improvement.

 

I mean they already live stream basically all the panels on YouTube doing it over zoom or whatever isn’t going to change much.

 

Since I hate in-person cons, this is a dream. I can go to Celebration without interacting with swarms of people! Perfect.

 

This is what made the first year of Disney taking over so much fun! They live streamed a lot of those panels and the You-tuber's and Pod-caster's between panels. That was FUN for me, and I am guessing a lot of other people that don't get to go to Celebration in person.

I would love it if they streamed panels, and specials.
