What’s the saddest death in all of Star Wars?

So many to choose from, but the death of Kanan in Rebels stands out to me. The entire episode had the feel for me of Kanan sensing through the force that the time had come for him to sacrifice himself for the good of his crew. And from the moment he sensed this, the only thing that mattered to him was saying a proper goodbye to the woman he loved. Sad...yet very beautiful at the same time and well executed on screen.

 

Probably Han Solo. He's my favourite character, so seeing him go was pretty sad, especially by his son's hand. It was a very well done death though.

Other really sad ones are Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Satine Kryze, Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker (ROTJ), Kanan Jarrus, the Jedi during Order 66 (Aayla Secura, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon), Clone 99, Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, the Rogue One crew (Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus, K-2SO, Bodhi Rook), Padme Amidala, and surprisingly Maul.

Hmm... I'll go with The Zillo Beast. With Fives as a possible runner up.

 

From the films? definitely Padme's, but I think Fives had a pretty sad death too. He felt alone, betrayed, and probably a little crazy. At least Rex and a couple of other Clone's listens to him in the end.

I'd say Kanan Jarrus and Leia. The effect of Kanan's death on Hera Syndulla was profound, as was Chewie's reaction to Leia's.

Han and Luke for me. They were handled poorly and disgracefully.

Obi-Wan's death always hits me because he is so at peace with himself when he goes. Same as Yoda. I hate watching either of them die.

 

Palpatine ( JUST KIDDING). I have to agree with Luna2112. Fives death was tragic, since if he had lived order 66 would have been prevented. We grew up with his heroic exploits in the 501st. For films I chose mace windu since he was sooo close to beating Sidious

 

Leia's for me. The fact that Carrie had passed made it impact more to me. It was like when I saw Leia lay down in TROS, I was saying goodbye to them both.

Anakin/Vader's death would be my close second.

Padme Amidala

Caught between her love for Anakin and her duty to the Republic; led Obi-Wan to Mustafar (unknownly) thus creating a chain reaction which ultimately took her life.

 

Only deaths that have made me cry were Shmi's and Waxer's.

 

If saddest, i got with Padme,Kanan, Satine and Leia. I'm not sad on Kenobi, Yoda and Luke as i know their death was that of peace.
