Gaming Livin' La Vita Loca: The PlayStation 4 Discussion Thread

Omg the Ghost of Tsushima gameplay today. So good. Honestly, it's basically the Feudal Japan Assassin's Creed game that we now won't get and don't need. I am soooo hyped.

 

!? When did that come out?

Oh well, it'll wait until the morning.

 

There was a gameplay video this afternoon. The game doesn't come out until July.

 

That's some impressive gameplay. Gives me a Red Dead samurai vibe. I'm going to save my money and get this instead of Death Stranding I think.

I had little interest in this game until I watched that. Now I can’t wait.

 

I was always interested because I love history, and Mongol History is one area I really like. It will be fun to kick their asses.

 

It certainly wasn’t the time period that had me disinterested. I love samurai stuff. But nothing they’d shown previously struck any kind of chord with me from a gameplay perspective, and I’m not a diehard Sucker Punch fan like many people are. And the fact that we were so close to release and hadn’t seen much actual gameplay had me worried about the final product.

But now I’m totally in. Like you said, it’s Assassin’s Creed Samurai, and I’m here for it.

 

Playstation Days of Play starting June 3rd.

 

IGN had a Ghost interview that has kicked it all off as it was talked off as being a hard game.

I can see the angle - if you hit someone with a katana, they ain't getting back up - but apply that to the player and even with armour, the hits are going to be limited.

Yet, at the same time, I think people may be forgetting how Sony handle their first party games - they tend to want to make them as accessible as possible, thus difficulty settings.

I wouldn't class HZD easy to be that easy, but a Story mode was added later. Sony want people to play the games.

 

Yeah as long as there are difficulty settings that's fine. I mean HZD was quite hard for a AAA game. I did play on Normal, but I'm glad there were easier options.

 

I remain convinced that Helius had more health than a Thunderjaw!

 

Yeah I wondered if we will still be getting two more games. But I will take this game, I wanna play the single player.

 

A certain guy in your avatar appears in the zombies mode too, if you end up wanting to check that out.

 

Oh that's right! I had forgotten that.

I thought it was the full base game? That's odd. It's not surprising to see Activision carve out content and go against the spirit of PS+ though.

EDIT: I have it downloaded to my hard drive and I got into Nazi Zombies just fine.

 

There were rumors that Spiderman would be a PS+ freebie, but I guess that's not going to happen.

 

Not while it's serving as incentive to subscribe for PS Now.

If they reveal a new Silent Hill, it would explain why the Dead by Daylight DLC is early next month too. (I say early because it's already live on public test servers.)

 

I'd say the only thing that gives me pause is if they're not just announcing the damn presser the date must be really, really subject to change.

 

It's been rumored for around June 4th for a few weeks.

 

Well Sony have been announcing State of Plays on Monday for two weeks now (I think) so this may all be a part of getting people used to the new format with highly anticipated titles, while not committing to a fixed date.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the one for The Last of Us II tonight ends on a stinger for the PS5 event if they've settled on next Wednesday.
