I've used that song as my "entrance theme" more than once.

 

Besties, a huge limb from a tree in my back yard broke last night during a storm. It fell on my table and against a window, but luckily didn't break either of them. But now I have to figure out how to remove it and pay for that. Sigh.

 

Having had a tree fall through my wall, let me tell you: this is the ideal outcome.

 

Hullo besties, I'm on a mini vacation. Thursday through Sunday off. Looks like we're working from home until on or after 7-31-20. I'm also in the process of looking for a therapist.

 

Hurricane Michael barely touched Tallahassee when we lived there, but a tree fell and totaled my dad's car.

 

I am also a member of the Tree Damage Club. Big one came down during a hurricane and cracked part of our roof. Luckily it didn't go all the way through, but it still caused a lot of damage and it was over 8 months before everything was fixed*. We had evacuated so at least we weren't there when it happened--that would have been incredibly scary.

*and during part of that time, the protective tarp we had over the crack started leaking. It was an interesting experience hearing the sound of raindrops falling inside one's house...

 

This is why all trees should be cut down.

 

My middle child, my Dandelion, lost the blanket she had from birth two years ago. While playing hide and seek today she found it. Her absolute joy made my year.

Hey, what's happened to this place? This thread has become an island of salvation in a sea of threads that are either tear-inducingly boring or solely populated by people frothing at the mouth, who will allow no dissenting opinions. It wasn't always like this, was it?

I feel like starting another eulogy for the old Senate but maybe that's become boring as well.

 

Sorry, I forget to wipe the froth away sometimes.

 

Like: there was a rule when you couldn't post a link in a Senate thread without comment. Don't tell me you don't miss that rule now.

 

The only thing I miss since going vegan is sausage rolls.

 

Ahh...I was in the UK this time last year and now Chewgumma's post is making me miss the sausage rolls I had then...

Of course, the pandemic in general is making me remember past travel experiences with quite a bit of melancholy-tinged nostalgia

actually I don't remember... tbh it was probably a fairly random/average sausage roll by local standards, so my memory of it is probably rose-tinted by my general love for anything associated with international travel experiences
