Yea, but Disneyland being a huge congregation where people go out to isn't exactly the same thing as people going out to their respective malls and restaurants.

They actually aren't allowed to announce it because they have such big fan followings. Disney actually only approves certain youtubers to do their shtick there, and they have Disney moderators constantly monitoring their content and dictating what they can and can't do at the park. And they especially want their Disney experiences to appear genuine and for them not to be followed around by their fans. So they can't announce ahead of time when they'll be at the park or else they'll lose their approval by Disney.

There's a whole community of them out there. I caught the Disney youtube bug last year around the time Galaxy's Edge opened and every single one of them was just out in full force. I followed a few of them for a little bit. Now I just think they're annoying. But be damn sure they'll be the ones at the park first thing upon the post lockdown re-opening.

I think it's still better than things like the beach, casino, pool or, while I support the cause, protests. I get wanting to go. I mean, if Tenet does open in movie theaters in July, I'm going to go and take the best precautions I can.

The casinos are a weird one. Because not only are they spending their life savings gambling, they're now likely to contract a life threatening disease while doing it. Really telling about human behavior, it's like rats hitting a button that will shock them and eventually kill them for the small chance at a prize.

I don't know. I'm sure there's some business aspect to like Disney's value on the market or something reducing by not being open while other similar businesses are. All that kind of stuff has to factor in as opposed to just whether they can open or not.

And yea, the protests aren't slowing down either. It's been about a week and a half now since the protests really started ramping up. I've even seen some articles that talk of a spike currently taking place and specifically noting that the protests have not been factored in. So I would expect in the next week or two we might start seeing reports of their impact on another possible spike in cases. Hopefully that doesn't become too politicized and we'll actually get straight facts about it. There's some conservative rallies coming up as well, and attendees all have to sign a waiver saying if they get Covid than the organization hosting the rally is not liable. So that's something to look at as well.

Yes, the higher the virus ratings, the more political it's gets! As for casinos, like here in WA. state, the one my husband works st did not have a single virus case until they shut it down, but, across the street at the Bingo Hall, there was 1 reported case, after everything shut down. now both gaming venues are open(no table games) and no cases so far. but restrictions are in place.

Two years will likely be more than enough time for Covid 19 to be sorted out and large gatherings to be held again. Yeah, the wait sucks, but it sucks a lot less than thousands of us getting sick and spreading it all over the world again. We want Celebration to be memorable, not infamous.

this would work for their 20th anniversary of AOTC and 40th of ROTJ (though why they insist of doing that one a year early every time annoys me)

On the bright side, this will hopefully allow for more content to be made and shown. We have the Kenobi and Cassian shows to look forward to along with more The Mandalorian, and hopefully something about the new films. Plus, we’ll have more time to save up our money!!

And is it true the merch is going online for sale? So y'all should still get your 40th anniversary ESB shirts right?

Well, if you have already paid you should either receive the merch or be offered a refund.

I'll change the dates to the new ones. Obi Anne was on awhile ago but she's not on now. I'll leave it up to her if she wants to make a new thread for it.

The hotel cancellation flavor text was at least entertaining:
"This is an automated acknowledgement from the helpful protocol droids at Connections Housing. Please do not respond to this transmission as it will not be received and will instead be slowly digested over a thousand years in the sarlacc pit."

I'm sad obvs, but postponing it was [Vader voice] inevitable, our destiny.

That's a pretty good response. And at least you now know it's cancelled so you won't worry about booking airlines, etc.

I'm kicking myself for cancelling my reservations through Connection Housing a few weeks ago. Hopefully it won't be too much of an ordeal to try to get another reservation through them when the time comes.

I'm curious how the Lyte tickets will be handled. I ended up getting tickets through Lyte and idk if they will transfer and if I'm eligible for the pin.

I am happy that they pushed it to 22. That will build anticipation and give time for a lot of cool stuff.
