Are you devastated about the cancellation of Star Wars Anaheim 2020?
Have you no idea how you are going to spend the days you had already taken off from work in the end of August?

We at the Jedi Council/FanForce forums will take this as a chance to celebrate all that's great with Star Wars, the Star Wars fandom and the Star Wars community. Join us for 4 days of virtual fun, without the need to queue or win a lottery.

On Thursday August 27 we will open the Virtual Celebration forum. A forum dedicated to all the things you would normally find at a Celebration. There will be themed discussions, a costume contest and (fan) artist alley. Not all details are cleared yet, but as soon as things are finalized we will tell you.

Do you have any ideas on what you would like to see, or would you like to be involved in any way, please tell us in the thread here.

Welcome to the Virtual Celebration 2020!!!

I would participate in the fan art, but as @Padme501st will confirm, my drawings are too good for this world.

How about trivia, first to answer correctly wins. Maybe even offer prizes similar to what was offered during forum family feud.

I'd be game for a live chat watch party as well, possibly a 40th anniversary watch of ESB.

A trivia is a great idea, I'm not sure about answer first though, since we are spread out all over the globe it would be hard to find a time that would work for everyone.

Also any trivia is hard work for the hosts, but is there anyone who would be interested in hosting a trivia during the Virtual Celebration?

I probably could. I'll get some input from others here as well.

You're right about the different times though. I guess the same would apply to watching a movie.

Trivia is hard because it's tough to come up with something that we all don't easily know that isn't easily Googleable.

That's why I'll have to do some digging and come up with questions that aren't easily Googleable. I'll go over it with @Obi Anne to see if I've got everything lined up.

I think a move watching would be possible, if it was a bit early for the US times, it would be late for the Europeans and if we make it on Friday it's probably easier to stay up late.

We can look into it. It might not be the Mark Hamill who played Luke Skywalker in the popular Star Wars films. But we might be able to get Mark Hamill to make an appearance.

The Artist Alley will be in cooperation with the Fan Art forum, so keep you eyes open there for more information.

We have been doing Doctor Who watch alongs since March worldwide, it's been a lot of fun, I don't see any reason why we can't do the same with Star Wars.

Yeah, the winner got the sympathy vote for having surgery. Cyberman was clearly the best.

Please take this to the social thread, so we can talk and plan about the Virtual Celebration instead :)

I think a movie watching would probably best be done on Friday, since a lot of people are off on Saturday we could try and make something that would work for a late evening/night for Europe and morning for Australia. I don't have the exact time differences in my head.

We are keeping Pacific Time (Though we are always on Mountain Standard, we don't do daylight savings here) right now here in Arizona, it is 12:30 AM here, 5:30 PM in Australia, and 7:30 AM in England. So that gives an idea for time frame.
USA East coast is 3:30 AM right now.
