Why do things always have to collapse at the end of epic movies?

I know, but jeez, we get it. Audiences can understand the concept of a defeated power without watching the structural integrity of buildings being compromised. ;)

Weren't that how Sauron died, his tower destroyed showing his darkness vanish. I think JJ doing something off that effect. IF it were Filoni i half expect a ring and fire demon.

Yes. Doesn’t mean everything has to end that way though.

Anything set before the ST ends means the Sith are somewhere kicking around out int the open or hidden in the shadows. It'd be refreshing to see other groups that challenged the Jedi and leave the Sith out of it. Still the Sith would be involved in some way even if they are watching from the sidelines or using the Jedi being distracted by to their advantage.

I'm still not sure those Sith Cultists were really there to escape. They might be the personification of the past Sith Lords inside Darth Sidious. Only in a special location like the Sith Temple on Exegol can they physically appear to another Force user.

Darth Sidous might see them all the time, or during specific crucial moments but no one else does. Maybe the Sith Apprentice? Musically there are hints of them in the chorus / chanting that accompanies Darth Maul.

There’s far too many of them to be only the Banite Sith. There’s a thousand years between the fall of the Sith/founding of the Rule of Two and the rise of Palpatine so if we estimate that the average age of each Sith apprentice when they killed their master to be 25 (the age both Darth Maul and Obi-Wan were in TPM) then there would be around 40 or so Banite Sith. They could be the manifestations of every Sith that has ever existed though. That would be interesting.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I was under the impression new canon hasn't given a definitive time span for the founding of the Rule of Two and when the Jedi think the Sith are destroyed. The Sith may have operated in the open for thousands of years under the Rule of Two. It seems to be common knowledge for the Jedi. That's
how Yoda and Mace Windu talk about it. And Yoda knows who Darth Bane is on the Clone Wars and that he started the Rule of Two.

1,000 years before The Phantom Menace is when the Republic of the Prequels is founded and the Sith are thought to be destroyed. Those two events seem connected. Was a Sith Rule of Two Empire over thrown by the Jedi at that time?

No, it’s canon that the Rule of Two was enacted by Bane a thousand years before TPM after the destruction of the Sith: https://www.starwars.com/databank/darth-bane

They need to create a character whose name approximates DARk deaTH, a rebel who attempts to subvert the Celestials and gain power. As a result of this failed coup is cast out of their realm and successfully tempts the original gangster, a willing mortal longing for greater knowledge of the Force. Taking on the Darth Moniker this character (Darth Moniker) creates a cult to implement the FIRST ORDER! What follows? WAR, of course. Pew Pew.

Okay so reread the opening message.

I suspect if he does get a trilogy it will be set in the High Republic given he is crap at writing they will let someone actually competent write it and post someone important to remind Rian that he can't screw this up so cut back on the subversive rubbish and piss poor humour.

Going by the story line the story group has even less idea about what they're doing than he does.

First off a singled ship blowing up in hyperspace doesn't result in massive disaster what would and could cause that disaster is to actually use the setting to show hyperspace travel has been pigeon holed into hyperspace lanes rendered through the use of "Beacons" or space stations often manned by at least one or two Jedi to insure the passage is safe and free of debris.
Starlight Beacon is one such station however the Grandmaster has to watch as his two Jedi Knights bicker over their selection of padawans.
Avar Kriss the so-called perfect Jedi rejects her padawan being unwilling to accept she's far from perfect which is how and why she considers her padawan unsuitable.
The other padawan is considered a prodigy accepted by her Master who unlike Avar is much less egotistical sadly his flaw is being unable to recognise his fellow Jedi Avar as even more deeply flawed than himself.
The rejected Padawan is sent back to the Jedi Temple where she is likely to be assigned to the Agri-Corps something that clearly effects her but although the resident Grandmaster has no Padawan he elects to allow this to go on as he is more focused on the task to thoroughly explore this region bringing the Republic far and wide whether or not they want it.
Shortly after the Padawan leave on her ship the other knight and his padawan heads to their next mission as a transport arrives catching the Grandmaster's notice.
He's too late to react as the transport detonates blowing up Starlight Beacon killing everyone aboard and its destruction interrupts the hyperspace lane causing the shipping to drop out of hyperspace many blowing up due to colliding with debris or even planets as the gravity shift sends them to their doom.
But many survive the transition and some reach inhabited systems some unknown and some very unwelcome to the newcomers.
The knight and his padawan deals with their unexpected arrival barely surviving whilst many others didn't their usual Jedi behaviour lost as the knight realises his precious Avar Kriss died aboard the Starlight Beacon and he begins the process of falling to the darkside with his padawan despite being a prodigy is still far too young to be able to handle this crisis alone without his counsel.
The other Padawan rises to the occasion helping the passengers on her ship even contacting other survivors as they encounter the Nihil.
An organisation established following the fall of the Sith they have taken advantage of the power vacuum to build up and absorb all of the rival groups eventually able to amass the forces necessary to make the attack on Starlight Beacon.
They know the vulnerability of the Jedi and are preying on the survivors and salvaging whatever they can preparing for the Jedi to respond to their attack.
However this era is of a Republic that's no different to the enemy they thought extinquished almost a millennia ago and whilst Darth Bane's rule of two holds sway not all of the Sith have died out like either have thought...
The Nihil are the advance guard of much greater threat one the Jedi alone cannot defeat, but where there is light there is darkness and a single Jedi Padawan is about to discover the truth behind that ancient war where there was no innocent only victims and the victor is far from decided no matter whether the Republic rewrote the history books to match their viewpoint.

Sorry for the longwinded prose, I say there will be Sith but they won't be the enemy, that will be the Nihil and whoever is behind them and the Jedi especially the Republic will be VERY responsible for whatever happens.

Sorry its still Rian whose directing this isn't it?!

Somehow I doubt it would be that good, I hope I'm wrong about that!
