I'm partial to Ferrari and Leclerc, so was happy with his 2nd place finish after the team's not-great practices and qualifying.

 

Haha, no problem. I was thinking the team might be about to turn things around... but today after Leclerc crashed into Vettel in the first lap and ended up putting both Ferrari cars out of the race, I started thinking that maybe I should just enjoy the races and not root for anyone in particular.

 

I've gotten into F1! Mostly thanks to Drive to Survive on Netflix but partially becoming friends with a big F1 fan during quarantine. Watched the race Sunday morning, great start and finish. Could have never guessed Ferrari would be out of that so quickly lol

 

I think Ferrari will do much better next race in Hungary. They will need to do something about that lack of straight line speed quickly though otherwise they'll be nowhere at the Silverstone races and Monza and Mugello (that would be embarrassing at their own track).

I'm very sorry to hear that. My condolences to his friends and family.

 

Things didn't improve yet, but hopefully sometime soon. It probably won't be a quick change, though, especially since it sounds like almost everything about the cars except for aerodynamics is "frozen" for changes during this limited season. Mercedes seems to have gotten the right mix in "before the lock", and of course it also helps to have a driver as amazing as Hamilton.

Edit: Ferrari announced a reorganization / restructuring of their technical department today.

If one good thing has come out of COVID-19, it's F1 at Imola.

FIA confirms that all races in the Americas (Brazil, USA, Canada, Mexico) are canceled.

Also, a photo of Lando Norris getting his hands dirty stripping down the car after the last race went viral, and he explained that he actually does it frequently. Good for him.

 

Yeah, I liked that... part of the team.

 

Sergio Perez has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss at least both British races.

And Nico Hulkenberg will be taking his place

 

And Leclerc and Ferrari in P3, pretty good given the recent challenges the team has had. Bottas' tire helped Leclerc be in the top three, though.

 

Those last 3 laps were absolutely insane. Just crazy, what could have been times for Verstappen.

Racing Point has been fined €400,000 and docked 15 constructor's championship points after Renault's protest over their rear brake duct legality was upheld. FIA ruled that the ducts were a carbon copy of Mercedes' ducts and not the team's own design. However, Perez and Stroll keep their drivers' championship points, and the stewards will allow them to continue using the illegal brake ducts because they cannot "unlearn what they already know".

Racing Point is considering whether to appeal the decision, and the 2021 regulations will be amended to clarify and tighten the rules on car copying.
