Freeze deserves another go, to redeem his character properly.

Just as Riddler hopefully will be.

I'd hope to see Poison Ivy for the same reason

Reeves can easily go into the superpower stuff if he wants.

Freeze and Ivy need to be in a more "fantastical setting"

This iteration looks (so far) to be a little grounded in reality, now if they bring in or allude to more fantastical things (i.e. a link to TSSS with King Shark) then all bets are off and bring them in but if it's staying grounded then stay grounded.

    That goes for Batman too

The Batman costume looks a lot beter in the footage than I thought it would. I'm now feeling more interested in this than I thought I would be.

it does make sense, this being right after year one makes sense. Then I can buy a cult of joker and then not knowing who batman is, as it would be a short enough time for him to still be unknown in general.

I think Freeze can still work OK in the grounded setting.
He's tech based, so building a big mech suit and an ice gun isn't that unrealistic in a movie about a man in a Bat suit with fancy gadgets.

Even the cryogenics stuff would work.

Plant powers, Reptile people and immortal beings is probably too far.

I hope this film features music from The The Game's greatest hits album.

I agree, I would be sad if it doesn't look like The Crow when I finally see it.

It's very Nolan esque, specifically reminiscent of Batman Begins. People who are denying that are just willfully not wanting to see that, or aren't as familiar with Begins and TDK as they might think they are. There's a lot in that trailer that was very obviously modeled from those two movies.

The who are you, I'm vengeance scene is 100% an homage to Batman Begins. The dark industrial setting, the band of criminals, beating the guy up as the others look on, the almost verbatim dialogue, he even says it like Bale. For a second there I even thought he was going to say I'm Batman.

Another thing I found interesting during the panel was when Reeves was asked what movies other than super hero movies did he use to influence The Batman. Just that he felt the need to specify that there were in fact influences outside of the super hero genre, where he then named a few noir type crime movies. And if you remember, Nolan also made it very well known that The Dark Knight was heavily influenced by movies outside of the super hero genre as well, specifically Heat which is all about fighting crime in a big city. So Reeves is definitely following the Nolan blueprint.

I hope they don’t redo training, that would really be retreading Begins.

I don’t even remember seeing Farrell in the trailer, but didn’t pour over it. Was Roddler shown?

and who is the tubby white beard?

edit: Riddler. Roddler is from The Scatman.

Having them around without any sign of the Joker made me wonder a little if they're not going to put this in the same continuity as Joker.

Pattinson looks great. I'm digging the vibe. Apparently, it's a Year Two Batman.

I'm not sure if they are going for realistic Gotham like the Nolanverse, or if they will play with the more "supernatural." If they go the latter, I would love for a live-action Clayface in a sequel.

Hush, Professor Pyg, and Calendar Man would fit really well in this universe.
