Amph The The Batman Thread (+ The The Penguin Series)

During the Multiversity 101 panel they did, they confirmed that The Batman and Joker are in separate continuities from both each other and the DCEU.

Batman having eye protection makes so much sense it irritates me that he almost never protects the most vulnerable part of the face--a part of the body which is already especially vulnerable, and he usually keeps the important parts unprotected. Very dumb.

 

He needs one of these

That is insanely good make up on Farrell. Totally hidden in the role. Never even caught it.

Riddler looks interesting. Any word on who the actor is?

And I'd be down with a new take on Freeze, Poison Ivy, or any of the movie characters who weren't done well.

What they've shown in The Batman so far.

 

ohhhh....that guy. He's also great. Always sorta creepy. Smart. Loved/hated him in There Will Be Blood.

 

Trailer reminds me of the old Riddler reveal for Arkham City

I think it's more likely they'll keep the tone given the financial and critical success of Joker.

This film looks like Batman Begins if it forgot to take its anti-depressants.

 

And the perfect way to drive those of us who hated Twilight far, far away from this movie.

 

Freeze deserves another shot. But I've read that there could be more villians in this movie just around that get cameos. Like one rumor is Mad Hatter appears like a drug dealer.

But Freeze can work. The suit will be definitely different, but give a good script like in Heart of Ice with a good actor and you got something great

 

Just like Christopher Nolan was embarrassed by Katie Holmes.

 

I’ve seen about one half of a Twilight film and it is indeed terrible. And when I heard this casting, I noped it. But, reading more, it seems he has been fine in many roles since, apart from the fact that writing off an actor because of one role is a fairly terrible idea. He was in them, he didn’t also write and direct.

 

I wayched this trailer on mute and it was really bad.
Then I watched it with sound and it was really cool.
I don't know what to make of that either.

 

Yea, I don't fault him at all for taking that role. Any up and coming actor would kill to become a world renowned mysterious vampire heartthrob overnight like he did. And he made a smart move by remaining fairly low key after that. It's not like he's going to bring any of that to The Batman.

But in all seriousness, from a marketing perspective, I'm sure somebody had to consider that his fanbase from Twilight would now be at a perfect age to be introduced to something like the DC universe, especially with him in a role like this. That fanbase is huge and dedicated, and they are likely just as excited for this as DC fans.
