OOC Out of Bounds (The ELL OOC Thread)

Since nobody ever refers to Gatorade or Powerade flavors by their actual names here in the US, I assume the same is true in the GFFA, and so I somehow suspect that fans are going to nickname these conferences as the Purple and Yellow Conferences.

 

There is something at work that has a set of classifications. These classifications are color coded. 90% of the time people just use the colors. I'm with @jcgoble3.

I'm super disappointed that the Sky Captains won't be able to say that they're Purple People Eaters if they win their conference.

 

Might have more of a chance to win a title that way - the Purple People Eaters of the late 60s Minnesota Vikings defensive lines never actually won them a championship, though they certainly tried (4 trips to the title game, no wins).

Yes, I'm an NFL nerd who happens to know some random stuff about League history.

 

It's all in how you read the term. Are they purple things that eat people, or things that eat purple people? If you read it as the latter, then the Sky Captains can claim that if they win the title.

 

I was wondering if someone would bring up the Vikings when I made that reference!

 

@galactic-vagabond422 Have you ever worked as a bartender? That was an enjoyable narration of that life! You even had me stumped with a Jean Harlow (despite the fact some members of the Noble House of Trieste are Harlowes)! In fact, not even my ex-bartender/flight instructor (though never at the same time) dad didn't know that one!

(I may also now really want a Jean Harlow to see if it lives up to the hype.)

 

@Trieste No, I have never been a bartender. However I know Carratos, and I know that they would want rum and rum based cocktails. So I did a search of rum based cocktails found a list, and in that list I found a rum based martini and was like yes. So I named it after Wedge's Sister's Stage name and moved on.

I cannot speak to the quality, but if you try it report back.

 

I think I'll have to! This is further proof of what hard work it is being commissioner.

I may or may not know someone who is working with a vendor to send drink creation kits for an event. I could see if they do small batch one off kits if we ever wanted to have an ELL happy hour.

Speaking of what's next, I had a brilliant idea on the way home this evening.

And we've still got seven weeks to go!

 

I finally brought the Euceron roster in the library thread up to date, replacing older players who would have retired by now and bringing in a new head coach. Assume these changes occurred during their time in the Premier League or before this season began, i.e. the current roster is how it looked on day 1.

EDIT: After resolving a random account suspension apparently caused by a bug on Twitter's end, there is my newest toy for this game. You all are invited to join in with your own accounts if you feel inspired to do so. Just give @LimmieWeekly a follow from your roleplay account and I'll eventually follow back.

...except I don't use Twitter so I'll have to make it a point to check in for the latest updates!

I try to not state the obvious...but today was a very not good day for the Solo Conference.

On the plus side, it made updating standings easy because nothing changed!
