The old dos games were fun. Jill of the Jungle was my favourite

That's very true, but there are a few instances of titles I know that can no longer be (officially) downloaded because of the vagaries of licenses and corporate politics. Angry Birds Star Wars for the 3DS can't be downloaded on the Nintendo Eshop anymore, but I bought a used cartridge for like $7.

 

Indeed, like, there's Littlebigplanet DLC you can no longer buy since the licences expired (eg. Disney). If you already bought the packs, that's fine, you can redownload them and access them still, but not if you've never purchased them.

Missed out on some really cool Tron cosmetics cause Disney wouldn't play ball and took their toys away with them

I had a customer in January who came in and asked if we sold Windows 10 on floppy.

 

A Legend of Korra game was brought off all digital stores. I still have it on my PS4 though

Oh, and another thing on the topic of software and the like, today I finally got round to reinstalling all the Myst games, since I wanted to play some bits of them. My laptop needed a full reboot back in January for annoying reasons, but it's fine now. Was just lazy for months on end

One of them, Myst III, installed easier than before (my old antivirus detected the patched version as a virus and tried to quarantine it), while another, Myst V, needed an additional download to get working on Windows 10 this time. Weird how they're the exact same games on the exact same software, but acted differently.

Myst IV, the one I actually wanted to play, was the only one that didn't have any problems or differences. And it kept all my save files too

 

Aren't most cars still manual transmissions in the UK?

 

Myst, now that is a game I have not heard in a long, long time

 

in my day....you put in a disk/disc or a cartridge and 9/10..it worked

Yep, unfortunately. Seems pretty pointless to me. Half the anxiety of driving for me comes from having to manage gears on top of everything else going on when altering speeds. Nightmare. Would be so much more simple if it did it all itself

Funny you say that, since literally yesterday they just announced a new remake of the original :
