The TV shows of Star wars is the most fun and enjoyed. The movies are fun too but more serious and dark.

I'd love to know what arbitrary measure you use to define the Republic comics as not "true Star Wars" to you when they were closer to Hayden's portrayal than TCW ever was. Not to mention that they were more interesting as a result.

I don’t like the term “redemption” used to describe Anakin’s and Ben’s returns to the light. It’s too evocative of making up for what one has damaged and IMO, neither character made up, nor could they have made up for what they damaged. I prefer the term “salvation”.

Attack of the Clones is better than The Phantom Menace.

Ezra Bridger is a good character with an emotional ending. He's a better character in Season 3 and 4.

TPM is most the bold star wars movie of all time. It changes everything from how the jedi are, the republic, enemy battle droids, more aliens, a satan like sith with double balde lightsaber.

Indeed it took the most risks, and for that it received ire, much like TLJ.

Agreed. I felt TROS suffered by trying to divert from TLJ, which was the most philosophical & spiritual SW film since ESB. I defend TLJ because it dared to take an icon like Luke and show even heroes have “dark nights of the soul,” and it was the most honest film about the Jedi, “The Jedi is a legacy of failure..” Which pleases this Sith. ;)

Yeah, unlike TLJ, it took far more effectual risks.

Damn, if a thousand generations of peace is a legacy of failure, I can only hope to fail that well.

Prior to the ST Jedi was not a legacy of failure minus failing to stop the Empire from rising. As @Talos of Atmora points out, they kept relative peace for 1000 years.

The Jedi weren’t criminals or corrupt politicians. They were just outsmarted.

Have they brought peace? In Legends they started the Force Wars for eons between Jedi and Sith because they couldn’t tolerate another point of view on the Force, thus waging war against The Legions of Lettow in a genocidal campaign.
In canon the Jedi help start a massive Galatic war called the Clone Wars despite decrying, “we are keepers of the peace, not soldiers,” (Mace Windu), the same Jedi Master who later is seen leading an army of Clone Troopers in the same film.

The Jedi didn’t help start the Clone Wars, they responded when two of their own and a Republic Senator were in danger.

The Jedi are keepers of the peace by principle, the threat of the Separatists forced them to take an unconventional combat role. It doesn’t make them hypocrites, just that circumstances changed.

It's funny how a schismatic conflict that took place during the beginning of the modern Jedi Order's establishment and its fall in a war that took place 25,000 years later are your examples that are supposedly meant to refute my point. Especially when much of the Jedi's opposition even in the wars that took place between those two conflicts was undoubtedly malicious.

My Legends statement stands, they drew first blood against the Sith:

“Facts are few about the events that led to the First Schism, when the relatively young Jedi Order went up against the first organized band of Dark Jedi. We know that it was in approximately 24,500 B.B.Y. that a faction of Jedi Knights renounced the ancient Jedi Masters and experimented with new ways to use the Force. Apparently frustrated by the rigid teachings of their former teachers, these rebels celebrated their freedom by giving in to their passions and emotions, and touching the power of the dark side. They called themselves the Legions of Lettow, and they were led by General Xendor, a powerful Force-using humanoid whose origins remain unknown. The Jedi Council, enraged at this act of disobedience, declared war on the general and his followers. The Jedi emerged victorious..” (The First Dark Legion, Jedi vs Sith, Windham).

As for the Clone Wars, you have a point that the Jedi thought they were protecting the Republic, their duty, but Mace Windu said “keepers of the peace not soldiers,” and yet Obi and Anakin are called General Anakin and General Kenobi in ROTS and TCW. There is no mistake the Jedi corrupted their ethos in the Clone Wars which only strengthened the Sith Shrine in beneath their Jedi Temple and Lord Sidious’ plans. The Jedi wounded their own abilities to see via the Force, “are ability to use the Force is diminshed,” (Windu) because they compromised. That was Palpatine’s greater achievement, to make the Jedi like Revan and his Revanchists who joined in The Mando Wars as soldiers, compromising the role of the Jedi.

The legacy of the jedi is failure, even master Yoda knows this and why he says to Luke he must learn his lessons including failures.

This form of the Jedi, accepting “failure as the greatest teacher” (Annapolis Mantra) could have reformed the Order and added fo its growth, but alas hatred of TLJ made a course correction back fo stoicism. For the Sith such as myself this is grand, it insured the Jedi remain ridiculed for tjeir inhumane strictures and philosophies such has “attachment forbid.” (Anakin, EP II: AOTC)

why on earth would the Jedi build their temple over the Sith shrine? Even if it's supposed to be to contain the power it sounds dumb.

The jedi tought to purge the light over the dark side. They tought the dakrness would be dorment but instead slowly made it possible to weaken the jedi order.

Well it happened, its canon actually. The effects of the Sith shrine diminshed the Jedi’s attuness. Proving the dark side is stronger. The Sith corrupted the shrine which had been a beacon of Light first, so they were able to eclipse the Light and then thrwart the Jedi’s attempts to ‘purify’ it who later build their Temple over it.

    1. Luke Skywalker as a hermit is so much less interesting than the alternative.

    2. A Jedi Order in the process of rebuilding has much more potential than a retreading of the entire Original Trilogy-era.

    3. The period of time set directly before the Sequel Trilogy and Ben Solo's fall to the Dark Side is much more interesting than the assortment of films we were given.
