There’s some Mongolian throat-singing in the season 2 trailer of the Mandalorian, so maybe!

 

There was also some Tuvan throat singing in the Denny's commercial for Solo.

Also, the Mandalorian trailer has a bit of what sounds like the gamelan music of the Javanese, Sundanese, and Balinese people of Indonesia. I hope we hear more of these percussive chimes in this season's score.

I was so disappointed throat singing was cut out of Solo.

But, yeah, throat singing is a thing in Star Wars.

 

I wonder if Yarael Poof ever did any throat singing. Would he sound more like a didgeridoo?

Oh and if The Hu song from Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order shows up somewhere in Mandalorian I would totally flip out.

I love the crazy carnival music that plays when MANDO enters the fighting pit in the beginning.

 

It’s not looking good for the week-by-week score releases. Very disappointing. I loved listening to them between last season’s episodes.

Ludwig used March of the Resistance as music for the New Republic pilots. I think this was the first time he quoted something from the saga. I'm gonna need that remix, Disney. Upload somewhere plz.

March of the Resistance is probably my least favorite bit of Star Wars movie music, so I hope it’s not used too often.

 

Agree and given the time period, using an OT theme would have made more sense.

 

Nah, they are New Republic pilots, clearly operating under mission of the new Republic. For that, using music that somehwat stands for the New Republic is appropriate. And since we don't have any themes for the New Republic, only for the Resistance which tries to uphold the New Republic, it is the closest thing available, especially since it is also used in connection to X-Wings a lot.

Not sure what's there to dislike about March of the Reistance either. It's pretty good actually. There are quite a few bits and pieces that are less interesting than that one.

 

I find it generically bombastic. More appropriate for Starship Troopers than Star Wars, IMO. One of Williams’ weaker themes. Goransson should create mostly original music, as his own stuff has been far better than most of the ST music, IMO (with some exceptions, like Kylo and Rey’s themes, which are good).

Goransson continues to produce the best Star Wars music since the PT. Better, IMO.

Goransson is a pure music genius; a true heir to John Williams !

I don't know how to describe music, but everything, every Chapter, what Ludwig Goransson produces fits so well. Its just brilliant. What he creates to go in conjunction with the live action images, it just enhances the scenes so much. And this latest Chapter reinforces this to me again. I just love the sounds associated with the fishing outpost and the sounds of Bo-Katan's battle music. Genius, pure genius.

I love that this guy is on board to produce his magic for The Mandalorian.

 

Mind-blowing. The Mandalorian squad music was incredible. Bo-Katan’s battle theme knocks over the furniture. So good. Give this guy all the music awards.

 

I know, right? I was waiting for Bo-Katan to start ranting about killing Depeche Mode.

 

I've been racking my brain to remember where I've heard something similar in the past to Bo-Katan's battle theme. For me, to a very small extent (maybe just a couple of bars), it has a feel of King Orm's (Aquaman) music with that .... Dar, Dar, Darrrrr....... Dar, Dar, Darrrrr........ sound.

I love that battle music.

 

On second thoughts and another viewing, no, not like King Orm's theme.
