Galactic Sports never recovered after the fall of the Empire. While there were many theories over the collapse of Huttball, Moopsball, Shockball, and the like, the real reason was that the Sith Eternal heavily recruited and kidnapped stadium designers in order to built Palpatine's big arena on Exegol.

After Episode IX the political landscape is a dangerous minefield.

All those that came to Exegol with their ships to help hoped to become a part of the future and shape government and whatever form the new galactic order will take. That includes criminals hoping for pardons as well as many sides of local conflicts that hope for settlements in their favor as well as companies and profiteers who hope for some price or ursurping power vacuums in politics or the underworld.

Few people were adept enough to navigate that mess and consolidate a true peaceful union from it, and with Leia gone, even fewer would even try. Lando Calrissian rose to the top position due to his skill, luck and charm but especially given he was the perfect compromise candidate. Not only did he have experience in governing, but also in commerce and the underworld. Given his long absence and downtime on Paasana he had no ties to any factions and is considered the perfect compromise candidate. In his absence though Lobot lead his companies and Cloud City in his name loyally, so he got some financial coffers and backing from that too.

But not all is shiny and falling into place as one cannot make every group happy and has to decide for one or the other option sometimes. Thus with new animosity and enemies emerging from those decisions, Lando was faced with the ageold question: Centralize power and use control forces even in the farthest reaches to guarantee peace and upholding the laws, or hand some such duties off to companies and other factions locally at the loss of central control? All eyes on him if he would follow in Mon Mothmas, Leias or even more extreme imperial-esque footsteps to solve that problem, he surprised everyone and took different measures.

Instead of overextending the military or police control function or handing the duties off to subsidiaries and companies as the Republic and Empire tried, Lando crafted new laws breaking with ageold traditions.

Every manufacturer of ships and weapons needs to build in an override code, as some already did like KDY, so that their products can never be used against them. With that mandatory update and control over the override code in his hands, he could literally shut down any weapon or ship instantly even from afar. Likewise, the formerly ever neutral BoSS and Holonet service providers were forced to allow him control over galaxywide Holonet & Communication shutdowns as well as deactivation of hyperspace navigation satellites, stations and buoys as well as those that keep the hyperlanes clean and maintained. With those under his control, he can shut down any war or faction instantly except they are fighting with primitive blades planetside.
In return though and to prevent any future abuse of those powers from this office, he detached the control of the military from the Chancellorship and replaced its hierarchic structure with a decentraliced yet strong one and only emergencies, those the chancellor with aforementioned powers usually can defuse fast, would be able to unify the militaries in record time under the democratic surpreme leadership of the entire senate and its appointed limited time emergency chieftain separate from the chancellor and not one or few individuals permanently.

Another trick the pulled was the legalisation of smuggling under the condition of providing emergency aids or a number of other justifications that put preasure on companies and local governments to overthink their policies and restrictions for the people and smugglers would watch them closely from now on.

Many other unorthodox tactics, luck and charming gambles marked his reign restructuring not only the way the galaxy is governned but also how the underworld and economy functions. Be it mandatory profit sharing among employees and other reforms to make economy more fair and less driven by rich elites, limiting their moneysucking options, or be it social services and health care reforms that not only forced governments to pay to make it work, but also put pressure on economy and people to look out for each other.

The world was not perfect and nor were his ideas and reforms. But a good start for a galaxy needing change. When his terms ended, and people wanted him to return for another he declined with a smile and raised his glass to whoever would follow in his footsteps.

    Another one...

In The Rise of Skywalker, what if Palpatine really killed Ben when he threw him down that chasm?

The guy that crawled out later was just his Force Ghost returning to save Rey's life and fading back into the Force afterwards proofing that he did ghost and interacting with the physical world like Yoda and Luke did before him!

or the evil version... he did not heal her but use Bodyhopping powers to take over her dead body as his, given she already died. No wonder when asked for a name he said Skywalker believing he is the Chosen One still and finally having finished what Vader started... to walk the dark path and win, live and return from it.

and for One Canon fans an add on to this: Little did he know that the Force was not done with Rey yet either for a Dyad were they and if he lived on in her body... so would she, in another. And not to mock him for whenever they would meet again but to honor Han and Leia, she named her self Solo... with her descendant being no other than Ania Solo in Legacy Comics!

    Couple thoughts...

Domain Hul's worldship was called Alak Schou.

Domain Dal's worldship was called Blood Sacrifice.

Domain Lah's worldship was of course Baanu Rass.

Kor Chokk warships were always known as island-ships in Yuuzhan Vong parlance, and of course Grand Cruisers to the New Republic, and treated as the larger or largest cruisers in the Yuuzhan Vong armada. When a cruiser is described in such a manner i.e. at Arkania, or at the Black Bantha, they were usually Kor Chokk vessels.

I would estimate the number of these vessels at thirty.

The contradiction in Star by Star was that the Yuuzhan Vong lost 'half their force' at the Black Bantha and yet fielded a much larger armada at Coruscant thereafter. I would argue that they had lost half their force by that point, including all the vessels lost at Arkania, Borleias, etc, including eight Kor Chokk cruisers on the march to Coruscant.

With Kre'frey having a few thousand warships under his command after defections to Bel Iblis ensure he still has the same numbers as he did at the start of the battle, it follows that the New Republic fielded fifteen thousand warships at the Battle of Coruscant, and being as after a week of a sublight assault on Coruscant, the Yuuzhan Vong still had half their fleet, and still outnumbered the New Republic, the minimum number of ships the Yuuzhan Vong had was forty thousand, probably fifty thousand. Even when they lost a thousand ships to the minefield, the Yuuzhan Vong are not stopped.

It follows that 'tens of thousands' of ships were present at Ebaq 9, which was compared to the Coruscant armada.

The numbers also reflect the thousands of thrustships at N'Zoth that the Yuuzhan Vong smashed, too.

This brings me to the Battle of Bastion. The Imperial Remnant had two hundred Star Destroyers, split with thirteen Star Destroyers per sector, and then ninety-six Star Destroyers. This armada is smashed by the Yuuzhan Vong, and yet, narratively we see the Yuuzhan Vong struggle with a handful of Star Destroyers - nine, of varying types, narratively implied to probably be an SSD (Stalwart), and various smaller Star Destroyers, including the ISD II Relentless, ISD Right to Rule, and VSD Protector - at Borosk.

Mara describes the fleet as sixteen big ships, and though we have two battleships, two warships, five destroyers, five cruisers and three carriers at Borosk - seventeen capital ships - we also have Interdictors (plural) mentioned, bringing those up to nineteen capital ships... which implies the sixteen larger vessels that Mara mentions are worldships/Kor Chokk's, probably the latter. But with the majority of the Yuuzhan Vong fleet returned to the Core Worlds frontline, and the GA stepping up their raids against the Yuuzhan Vong in response, it would seem the heavier vessels of the armada returned to the front, and a mop-up fleet was left behind, and similarly other ships deployed to hold the captured sectors - at least three, covering Bastion, Ord Sedra and Muunilinst.

Keep in mind the Yuuzhan Vong deploy 90% escorts, so even nineteen capital ships means nearly two hundred vessels in total - a sizeable deployment to attack Borosk anyway. Indeed, the Black Bantha detail tells us there were 'over a thousand' ships there, and Tsavong Lah detailed it as 'six clusters' so a single cluster of two hundred ships is a potentially standard deployment.

With the 90% escort point, with five thousand capital ships, that gives forty-five thousand escorts and actually rounds out fairly well the five thousand ships i.e. capital ships deployed in TUF, matching the proposed 50,000 ship Ebaq 9 and thus Coruscant deployments.

Either way; these are my headcanons.

Chewbacca still doesn't care about medals, the only reason he accepted the medal that Maz gave him after Exegol was because it was Han and Leia's medal, and it had sentimental value to him.

I like that one. There's really no way to justify Chewie not receiving a medal that doesn't make the Rebellion look bad unless he was the one who refused to accept one on general principle. So that's a great way to square that circle.

(If memory serves, James Bond also refuses to accepts these kinds of honorifics, though I don't remember if that was in the original Ian Fleming novels or just later ones).

Lucas even said back in 1977 that Chewie didn't get a medal because Wookiees don't really believe in medals and honorific ceremonies, and considering how much I love the universe Lucas created, and how much I love the New Canon, I like to blend them together in different ways. For example, I headcanon that the Whills that created Anakin also joined Rey and Ben together in the Dyad.

Well yes, actually! I know it's an unpopular opinion but I quite like Lucas's interpretation of the microbiotic force realm. The Midichlorians always fascinated me, and when I heard about his description of the Whills and how they created the Chosen One/Anakin it really felt like the final missing link to fully explaining the Force. That's why I headcanon them into actual existence, and say that they were responsible for creation of the Dyad, it fits in quite well actually. Either way I'm getting slightly off topic! We really should have a general Force discussion thread, shouldn't we?? [face_thinking]

Not that I can see? No reason Chewie can't say "I personally don't want to go for this, because culture or tradition or just personal preference for whatever reason, but you guys can knock yourselves out."

Unpopular one for certain individuals I'm sure.

Shortly after the events of Thrawn: Treasons, the Chiss Ascendancy fell apart, with squabbles and arguments spiraling out of control. This left them and their defence force vulnerable to invasion from the Far Outsiders, who swept over the Chiss worlds and either wiping out or enslaving whole populations before continuing on deeper into the Unknown Regions. By the time of the end of the Galactic Civil War in 5 ABY and the retreats of Imperial remnant elements into the Unknown Regions, little to no part of the Chiss Ascendancy (and even other major powers such as the Vagaari) remained to pose a major threat. Whatever remains of the Chiss society are likely in hiding on isolated worlds or even further to the edge of the galaxy far from known corridors. As to the Far Outsiders, they likely moved on into the inhabited satellite galaxies to regroup their numbers after their over-excessive losses in their attempt to conquer the Unknown Regions for an eventually invasion of the known galaxy.

Time for another round of headcanons!

-Snoke is a strand-cast of Plagueis's corpse and Palpatine (updated to fit with The Star Wars Book)
    - In the 19 years between Episodes III and IV, Palpatine kidnapped numerous force sensitive children, much like he attempted to do during the Clone Wars.
    - Rey's Father was a strand-cast between Palpatine and one of the Force sensitives he kidnapped. (Once more to fit with TSWB, and to make Rey's father a little more biological)
    - Palpatine willingly let Rey's father wander the Galaxy in hopes he'd create a natural offspring that would have the Force, but he did not expect him to change his name and hide his child, hence why he sent Ochi after him.
    - Young Palpatine looks like Matt Smith (Yes I believe this conspiracy)
    - About 2,000 years after the Battle of Exegol, the extragalactic Keepers of the Journal of the Whills approach R2 and Threepio (who now work as Jedi Text Keepers on Ahch-To) to retell them the 3-generation spanning conflict between House Palpatine and House Skywalker... and the Whills start this entry by saying "A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away..." ;)

I like to think that Snoke started out as something of a advisor to First Order leaders like Rae Sloane and Brendol Hux but slowly watched as the leadership dwindled and with someone like Brendol Hux's help took the mantel of Supreme Leader personally.

Given Exegol had multiple Snokes in a jar... I think the intention was never to just have one strandcast snoke but always several. Otherwise they'd just clone one to replace the killed one. Therefore, here is my Snoke headcanon:

    Why would he need several?

When we met Snoke in the Rise of Kylo Ren comic along with Ben and Luke journeying through the Unknown, he looked more dressed like a priest or guardian on a very curious beautiful world with Force treasures. And that is exactly his purpose, to guard sites Palpatine deemed important and interact with visitors to deflect them from the secrets hidden there or any hints towards Exegols meddling with them.

Snoke is like Legends Guardian of Mount Tantiss, a guardian of not only safehouses, storehouses and ancient Force sites but also a deflection and watchful eye on the vast dark over anybody trying to access these secrets. And given the number of sites, several Snokes existed and were needed.

Now, what transpired to have one Snoke rise in prominence? What happened to the others?

With Luke hitting on Force sites, one Snoke found and met, he could only deflect him for so long through talks and playing nice guide and teacher. Ultimately we know Luke and Snoke disagreed and parted despite Ben keeping a fond memory of him. But as deflection no longer worked on Luke, this Snoke needed other ways to keep him off track. Cue the Knights of Ren and other threats secretly utilized by Snoke. But veering this close to the Sith Eternals doings and the First Orders slow rise in the Unknown, there came a point where Snoke had to actively take it over to avert its discovery and survival. At that point other Snokes got irrelevant and faded away to Exegol as the First Order became capable to guard the Unknown Regions themself from any venturing to explore them.

Now that much for the broad strokes... in details, I'd weave in a few other storylines involveing Thrawn, Ezra and more in their own Snoke gambits and how they got used to distract and deflect the galaxy from the true focal points of Sith Eternal proceedings.

A returning Thrawn stumbling upon a Snoke with Ezra, falling for him briefly before safeguarding themselves with Ysalamiri? Snoke playing the henchmen for Thrawn while indirectly manipulating him for Palpatine unite some remaining warlords outside the Unknown Regions (including Mando's Imperial Factions with a certain Darksaberwielding Moff Gideon). And when Thrawn outsmarts Snoke... Occhi of Bestoon replaces the Noghri and takes Thrawn out Legends style with a dagger right before he might have won.

    Cool thread!
    My headcanon (10/26/2020):

    · Palpatine discovered Exegol between ANH and TESB

    · Palpatine secretly hired thousands of cultists to prepare Exegol for extension plans for his empire (building fleet, sith alchemy, backup body, etc.)

    · Palpatine wanted Luke to strike him down in anger to posess his body speculating but that Vader would intervent (Luke was supposed to become apprentice before)

    · When Palpatine felt down the DS II shaft, he was very surprised and concerned that his eternals were not ready yet

    · In the years after the battle of Endor the sith were hidden and did not achieve much; Palpatine focused on seducing Ben Solo; cultists fail trying to create a force-sensitive clone of Palpatine; one strand-cast can escape during a 'test session' on Jakku but is not hunted afterwards

    · Jedi Knight II + III are canon: Some of the cultists don't longer believe in a successful return of Palpatine but try to resurrect Magna Ragnos instead of; they get stopped by Luke Skywalker, Jaden Korr and some other jedi students

    · Snoke is created on Exegol (possibly the dead Plagueis is involved somehow); Snoke, controlled by Palpatine, reaches out for Ben

    · Rey Palpatine is born; Palpatine/Snoke feels that “the failure“ became father and hires Ochi of Bestoon to kill the whole family

    · Ben's downfall and brutal end of the jedi academy (I still need to fill with explicit headcanon)

    · Palpatine sacrified Snoke (it was the intention that Ben kills him instead of Rey)

    · Palpatine later was interested in Kylo or Rey; the stronger one would proof to be a worthy host for his spirit

    · When he found out that he could restore his body with the dyad's energy, he crushed Ben and wanted to crush Rey

    · Since the rule of two every time the apprentice killed the master, the master's power got to the apprentice (like soul-collecting)

    · The jedi have their energy spread out in the cosmic force after their death

    · Through ancient jedi knowledge Rey could open a channel to the cosmic force and become a vessel for the power of all past jedi; in a proxy fight of “all sith“ against “all jedi“ she could defeat her grandfather

    · Ben's climbing up was super heroic because he had multiple broken bones but for Rey he gave everything to rise as a jedi from the deepest, painful pit up to the light

    · After the battle of Exegol the galaxy found back to respectful and democratic living-together; Rey founded a new order of jedi teaching about light and darkness

Large rebel capital ships are not combat ready most of the time for a lack of supplies, and usually operate with a skeleton crew. The rebels spend most of their time trying to acquire those supplies, so that they can sortie their cruisers to hit more fortified Imperial targets, after which they go back to their hidden staging areas and begin the process again. Would explain why in the X-wing Alliance campaign, the Liberty shows up to a battle maybe once...and the rest of the time the rebel fleet is just running from a fight.

Baby Yoda is the true Chosen One the prophecy spoke of and the Skywalkers and Palpatines have no clue what is coming to warrant his growing up! The entire Saga was just a prelude... brace for impact!

Jedi, Sith, irrelevant. Anakins virgin birth is fake due to poor Shmi having been memory wiped by Palpatine. With 60 years of age, Baby Yodas birth falls right into Plagueis reign and experimentation stage to bring about a Chosen One! And I doubt Baby Yoda was the Dyad to Anakin's birth though the agerange does coincide with that mysteriously that both are about the same age!

Is Baby Yoda the guardian of the galaxy that will thwart of any invasion coming in the post ST era? Canon's Yuuzhan Vong? Canon's Abeloth? Canon's Father of Shadows?

I suspect that I could be convinced that Episode X-XII could deal with Ben's return, and the galaxy at large being sorted out, and I'd accept it merrily.

But basically, I could embrace, with some very minor tweaks, Episode X: Duel of the Fates.

Think about it. Hux can have a little scene where he checks on his chest wound from nine years ago, of course, but if you just leave Ben's return as a mystery - or perhaps, the return of Kylo Ren as a mystery, who knows. It's just something I'm dabbling with in my mind.

    I am hooked!

Have Ben's legacy be dealt with like that of Revan in TOR. Have him be a very physical Force Ghost with audience not knowing if he is really back or not until he turns ghosty later. Have him have his own cult following.

As for Hux, have him survive by sending an imposter to the bridge suspecting any report would not be bought. Imposter dies in his place and he is off the ship already. So he can pick up the pieces of other survivors post battle and restart the Second Order (to use Second Imperium YJK vibes!).

I so want to see Duel of the Fates lightbeam network in action... and likewise ancient technology! I know they stole the idea from Lord of the Rings watchtower fire network to call for help, but I like it.

Heck, X-XII could even have some Hunger Games vibes going with Finn and Rose's descendants taking their DotF roles of revolutionaries on Coruscant.

I am kinda fancing the idea of a galaxy free of Jedi and Sith and as they try to make peace and union work, for the first time ever without any secret cabals influencing it, they struggle like Hunger Games "good" guys from District 13 did until Katniss set them right in the end. So the galaxy may kinda need a true Jedi to sort the final flaws out of whatever the citizens create post IX. Cue a hunt for the legacy of Rey... who mysteriously vanished post IX. No academy or such. Just some friends like Finn trained and gone. And some rare to no training Forceusers searching for her or her legacy Mortis Knights style, finding Mortis and her or a legacy of her there?

Meanwhile other Cults like Ben's followers try to mend things with mixed results until a true Forceuser returns to guide and teach those mostly selftrained lots and unite the cults and cultures.

And if Poe had a daughter or granddaughter... I hope we get a proper female X-Wing pilot Jaina style.
