and of course I was wrong about Kenin. She's up a set and a break. getting closer to a finals matchup between a 21 year old and a 19 year old. The Serena Williams era may in fact already be well over.

Yep she wound up winning in straight sets. It's her vs Iga in the final. If she wins, Sofia who would won three out of the three majors that were played this year. Imagine putting money on that in Vegas at the beginning of the year. Wound have gotten some incredible odds on that. Hell Sofia making two major finals this year would been unreal long shot bet.

it's nice seeing the new faces. The big turnover in men's tennis has to happen someday, but likely not Sunday.

I think the forecast is for sometime around 2030.

And sometime between eternity and never will we see an American men's player win a major championship. Roddick's US Open victory is going to have it's twenty year anniversary in a few years and at this rate, there won't even be an American male in the field let alone has a chance to win it. It's pretty incredible it went from American men players winning major after major after major from Jimmy Connors to Pistol Pete and Agassi (along with Ashe, McEnroe, Courier and even Michael Chang winning one) to literally nothing. Absolute nothing. I know the world has obviously become much stronger in tennis and the US much weaker but seriously how is that even possible especially since Pete and Andre inspired many young tennis players in the nineties? Was it the peak of US tennis no as that was obviously the 70's and 80's in terms of the sports popularity here but still tennis was very popular here in the 90's. How did it just fall off the map??

Korda had a good run this year, and he's only 20. He could be a real contender.

i remember petr korda from the sampras era - tall, lanky, big serve. like goran but not as loud or successful.

i didn't know his son was playing, but that's cool to see a legacy.

comeback from tsitsipas has been remarkable after getting blown away in the first two sets. he's got the momentum to win.

    And yet...

Djokovic has bought himself another shot at what has been called* the manned Mars landing of professional tennis: beating Nadal at a Roland-Garros final.

lol, he might get the one and only set that rafa's given up this tournament, but i don't see much more than that. rafa should win.

my reverse hexing doesn't usually work twice, but i'm trying.

19 year old ranked outside the top 50 wins the French Open without dropping a set - makes a pretty good headline. It has a bit of a Nadal ring to it.

Watching these guys successfully defend what would be outright winners against anyone else - the first four games alone have been amazing.

Nole is playing like he's ranked #1 and is still down 0-4 in the first set

I can't believe Rafa bageled Djokovic.

He's up two sets to none and they're in the third set now.

Nadal's first serve went off the rails for a big chunk of the third set, let Djokovic back in.

Didn't matter. Historic. Co-GOAT by the most popular measure.
