Can we get rid of these bloody signatures?

Yeah. For example, fanfic forum rules state that one of the few places we can promote our fanfics is in our signature. If we can't use BBCode, then we can't link to our fics, and that leads to sad times. So BBCode is fine.

Emoticons are fine too. They don't do any harm, and if you disable the boards' emoticons, people will just use Unicode emoji characters anyway.

 

We also allow users to promote things like their eBay auctions in their signatures. If we took that away we'd probably see a rise in advertising posts.

And yeah, I liked the old IGN limits on them.

I wonder if character count limits, which are basically a necessity given the exploit, would just affect that anyway by limiting BBCode.

I've AdBlocked the stars on my laptop; wish there was a way to do so for my iPhone.

 

When the boards upgraded with all the bells and whistles people loved it. It's fine as is.

 

Where do I sign up?

 

I'm learning in my college class that every single modifier to an HTML or CSS page makes it load longer. These stars are making the boards slow. The sigs are making the boards slow. The registered: dates under the usernames are making the boards slow. Get rid of it, get rid of THEM ALL!

 

Keep registration dates and ****-can everything else, especially stars and sigs.

 

Yeah, that half a second it takes for pages to load is an eternity.
