I badly need a new glasses prescription, but lockdown...

I actually have a pair of my late mother's reading glasses. I was keeping them out of sentiment, but a few months ago I tried them on and they make reading so much easier.

My third eye sees all. The two on my face, thankfully still see.

Failing. It's becoming difficult for me to read signs while driving.

Similar to me. Just before lockdown I was at a friends house, and mentioned it’s getting tough to read text on my phone, and she pulled a box of specs out of a cupboard, I tried a few pairs on, and boom - one pair made everything crystal.

I should go get a test though. They’ve deteriorated pretty quickly

Add me to the high five - I am nearsighted and due for an eye exam. However I am still leery of mixing with other people, especially with Covid cases on the rise, so I haven't booked an eye appointment.

Got LASIK about 7 years ago. Second best money I've ever spent (after getting a dog).

You mean adopting/rescuing and not buying. Clarifying before the attacks begin.

Is it true that wearing sunglasses outdoors is good for your eyes? I usually do this, so I hope so. Never needed glasses/contacts.

No I bought. I have allergies to dogs so I needed one that would definitely be low allergy/no shedding. I would have loved to adopt but couldn't. And I don't think there's anything wrong with buying from reputable breeders, as I did, not puppy mills or chain stores.

Depends on the sunglasses. You want to prevent UV light damage to your eyes so be sure the sunglasses you have do that. If you get a cheap pair it might not provide the needed protection.

I had a detached retina in my right eye last year and needed surgery to prevent total blindness. My eyes were pretty bad to start with, and now my vision in that eye is distorted, with everything looking wrinkly. I was warned, and now suspect I'm getting cataracts in that eye now too...

So I'm heavily dependent on my left eye compensating. I wouldn't mind, but I'd just bought new glasses weeks before the diagnosis, and so post-surgery had to buy a new prescription. Fortunately they were able to use the new frames, and simply changed the lens for the right eye. I can tell however, that I already need a new prescription; but if I indeed do have cataracts, I'd better wait post surgery.

Agreed if it is a reputable breeder. My sister has allergies and had to do the same. Hard part is finding reputable out there though. Lots of slimy breeders.

I'd imagine a veterinary surgery would have a list of reputable breeders in the area - I'd be asking them.

My mom has had that same issue happen many times as far back as 2008. In fact, I think she's legally blind in her left eye.

I had conjunctivitis in September that reached my cornea so for about a week I couldn't see much out of my left eye. Fortunately it's back to normal now.
