In other words I vote for Trump because I like his politics, I don't care about his medical views. I don't look too the President for guidance for my health. If Trump was running for surgeon general than I'll care about his medical view.

He's got a point - Trump is just expressing his opinion, and it's not like he influences large swaths of people with his statements or has the ability to work against doctors and scientists, right?

 

hey I like the sentiment, but I don't know if the president should believe that like 75% of congress don't have any legit opinions

also PG is right, and this is why presidents shouldnt exist, least not as they do currently. Playing a role in all these positions is insane, and a perfect example of how we just gave ourselves a king but chosen through aristocracy in the guise of meritocracy

 

It could be worse, if we discovered there was an indigenous population on the moon, the major countries of the world would be getting into a fistfight over who would get to exploit/enslave/exterminate them first

 

OTOH, if there was an indigenous population on the moon which was far more powerful than us, we'd start getting really worried.....

IIRC, in one of John Wayne's racist rants, after claiming that what happened to the Native Americans was 'just how things are' when two cultures meet, he had a weird epiphany where he glumly predicted that if aliens existed they would do the same thing to us.
