Discussion Speculation Does anyone think due to Ahsoka's popularity, they might make a film about her?

Do I think they will? Probably not. Do I want them to? Heck yeah. I like Ashoka.

Just as she is now. And I hope she is used sparingly. So no series where she is the main character. I think they are close to overusing her to be honest.

I just don't think there is enough left to Ashoka's story to carry a full movie.

 

I think it depends where her story goes from now on. If they do a movie that leads her from Mando to Rey post TROS then maybe.

 

They still need to resolve her storyline from Rebels. I'm hoping they do that on Mando but I prefer it not resolved and would be okay with that movie.

 

There's has not even been a video game with alien main character (well, maybe SWTOR) so I don't think they would do that in a movie either.

 

Depends on how humanoid the alien is, I think.

 

Yeah - of all of the CW characters she has the most intrigue to me due to being so closely tied with the most important character in the entire saga(That'd be Anakin ). Im not a huge fan of TCW cartoons but their interaction and her story is the best thing going in that whole series. Of coure, the issues are plenty:

1. Who plays Anakin? He'd have to be in it for it to all come together, IMO. Its Christainsen or nothing for me.
2. When does the story start? Riht when she's introduced un TCW or afterwards? Or even past the Anakin timeline and way into the future?
3. How will casual fans and moviegoers take this? Star Wars fatigue and Disneys suspect handling of things play a role here. Non cartoon watchers wont even know who the hell she is let alone care. Remember, if you base most of it on some novel, comic or cartoons then a whole chunk of the paying(read: box office potential) audience wont know a damned thing about her.
   
4. Does it have to tie into ROTS? If so, theres the casting issues again but an even greater problem.

So while Im all for it, Im not so sure how they'd tackle this properly.

 

After seeing Ashoka on Mandalorian - her next story likely is following up to Rebels.

 

Ahsoka, Rex, Sabine, Ezra and Thrawn pus force ghost Anakin.

 

I would guess 80 percent of the GA does not know who she is.

and she's having her own show as rumors imply, she' the new face of Star Wars.

TV show is more than enough. Definitely no need for a film. Disney+ is perfect for a character "show"

 

I agree - I think the movie thing has run its course with Star Wars. It argubaly did a little while back but here we are.

D+ is a fine distribution system and TV has the means these days to produce major things. They have all the toys that movie studios do. Hence, the great production values in most modern shows. Just use TV. Drop the movie thing.
