Cavil is an absolute no for me for Bond

    Armitage/Elba are acceptable

Hunnam should be nowhere near that list above

And Moore should never in any way be considered the best Bond

What's wrong with Cavill, @FatBurt -- he was really good in The Man from UNCLE...

Yeah I don’t find that report at all credible.

I’d be okay with Cavill. I also really like James Norton in McMafia and I think he’d make a pretty good Bond.

I'm sure Cavill would be a safe and solid choice for the role. I'd kind of like to see what Dan Stevens would be like as Bond, but it would be a risk - the guy has great range, but is that what we really need for Bond?

i don't take any rumor serious until they've released the last movie with the current actor

To be honest I think Hardy would make a better adversary to Bond than Bond himself. Like I’d love to see him in an Alex Trevelyan type role where he’s the physical equal or even superior to Bond.

If the current Bond had a say in his successor, would you be happy with someone from Craigslist?

In place of No Time to Die, I've been taking a look at some prior entries, my blog reviews linked--starting with the classic that is GoldenEye, the middling View to a Kill, and the glorious nonsense that is Moonraker.

Looking back on GoldenEye and the famous game adaptation thereof does make me reminisce on when Bond games were actually leading the way in movie tie-ins--I had plenty of fun with Nightfire back in the day, and Everything or Nothing was actually quite innovative for its time...

I was waiting for that. Widespread money making film releases are not going to happen until vaccines become available and we can get the masks off and the number of new infections becomes low to nothing.

He may not have died young, but Halloween is not the brightest of days to go.

Sir Sean Connery's service to this Earth has come to an end in great finesse.

Ian Fleming may have brought Bond to the world, but Connery brought Bond to life in true style that is used as a template to this day.

    RIP, Mr. Bond!

Still the best Bond, imo. Fantastic screen presence in everything he was in. Very sad to hear he's passed away, but he won't be forgotten.

Not my favourite Bond but absolutely the one who set the standard.
I doubt there would have been much of a future for the franchise had anyone else but Connery been cast in Dr. No.

I totally agree with @DebonaireNerd as well. Nobody can deny that Bond was made iconic through Sean Connery.

Well, when things settle and the tributes slow somewhat, lets finish the year at some point with a Connery tribute re-watch of his era.
Maybe in December since that would be when we usually would be watching a new Bond film?

Although I also feel there should be a special thread for Sean as he did some great work outside of 007 too!

Look, I think we can all agree that the important thing is to not watch that weird Scottish CGI movie he did.

    90. That's a good run. Some time after he retired a local radio host briefly met him checking out of a hotel. Said he was well dressed, tan, seemed to be quite happy and enjoying his retiement.
