Ohio and Florida have always been red states. Those and Texas will not flip for another cycle at minimum. But Georgia, Arizona, and even North Carolina are now in play for them. Go for those and strengthen the blue wall in 2024. Then think about Ohio and Florida perhaps in 2028

 

I feel like I’ve had my jaw clenched for the past four years. Unclenching now. The relief is so overwhelming I can barely type this.

Trump won GA by 5 pts 4 yrs ago. If a great GOTV effort there can flip Georgia, then Texas and Florida have a chance to be flipped by the next election if the Dems do everything right. It was just that they did so much wrong in FL this year. Enfranchise those felons, focus on voter registration, and develop a good ground game and Florida is still winnable.

 

So thoughts. Thank goodness. I ended up not going to lunch today because my neighbor had to cancel. So I was sitting in my backyard resting after raking some leaves watching my son play in his sandbox when I got the news on my phone. It was 11:47 AM and I will forever remember where I was and what time it was. These last four years have been scary. I don't care what anyone thinks of me for feeling scared of this man being president. So happy it's over.

I totally wish it wasn't Covid. I would be in DC by now, would have metro'd on up to party with everyone in the streets.

Also...

I was a "partner" at Starbucks, enjoyed my job enough that I am still a customer. I used to work at Kings Dominion, never been back.

 

I think most states are in fact winnable for the Democrats if they pursue a broad economic policy that benefits the working class and have the registration and turnout efforts that made Arizona and Georgia (almost?) theirs.

I'm going to have to disagree with that. It has not been the fault of both sides. On both civility and policy extremism, Republicans have been infinitely worse.

 

Since Trump is gone and not his co-conspirators, This feels like the end of ROTJ the leadership is gone but the empire still exist and must defeat them all.
