I am b/c Paul came up as talent (vs. being a promoter) and Steph understands the PR value in not getting blasted for it-- but mostly b/c it's such a low bar to be "better" than Vince, who is like literally a top hat away from being a 1920's antitrust villain.

I am kind of two minds about the idea of Unionization in Pro Wreslting.

One the one hand it will give much needed protection to the performers.

One the other hand it would kill the Independent promotions as the promotera of small companies are not going to be able to afford the things a union would require them to in order to book union wrestlers. The jndy scene disapearing would also negativley effect the development of new performers.

Take a company like PWG whose alumni lists is amazing. Kevin Owens, Bryan Danielson, Omega, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Adam Cole and all of the Undisputed era , Richochet, The Young Bucks, Keith Lee, Alaistair Black, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Matt Riddle, ACH, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, Tomasso Ciampa, and Drew Mcintyre all spent decent time in this small California promotion that ran its shows out of a Jewish Community Center, an american legion hall, and the Burbank armory. They and many like them would go out of business.

 

If “indie” promotions (and I’ve always felt that divide was arbitrary and misleading) are unable to provide the basic protections and benefits that regular businesses already have to provide regardless of size, then they don’t deserve to exist, in much the same way I am unmoved by the so-called plight of the alleged small business that can’t “afford” to pay living wages. Sorry your carnie darlings are reliant on a grotesque business model.

Spectacular episode of NXT last night. Feels like they're building everything in great directions. What they're doing with Leon Ruff is particularly unexpected and awesome.

Not ashamed to admit I'm shaking a little bit right now, as this hits a bit too close to home for me at the moment. Because honestly? Amputation was definitely my fear when I went into the hospital due to my leg infection a couple of weeks ago. I feel so incredibly bad for him right now.
