CT The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary

    I got to catch Empire Strikes Back last night in theater. Not many people in the theater, which was nice.. Unfortunately I almost dozed off a few times.. I don't know what happened.. One of My highlights of 2020 to be honest!

    I got to see it at the drive-in with my daughter. She fell asleep before the ending. She still doesn't know who Luke's dad is.

    Played all 3 super Nintendo games back. In the day. There were no save options on super star wars so you had to play it right the way through. I managed to finish it and the other two.

    Empire was hard esoexially the early hoth scenes but you got to take down some at ats. The cloud city levels were so cool because they used a variation on John Williams music we I akways loved. Vader was tough to beat but I did beat him.

    Jedi was easier but I loved it just as much and managed to defeat the emperor.

    ^Games with no save options BITD is a wild notion to think about post-memory cards and auto-save.

    If you fast forward to 14:45 of that TESB documentary, you'll see proof that Adam Driver travels back in time to help with the production of TESB.

    I checked out Empire one more time in the theater the other day (at an indie place I frequent(ed), where I've had some of my best cinema experience). The sound and screen were much better, and inspired me to do my own personal writeup explaining how much it holds up, even with my fanboy glasses taken off!

    This is FANTASTIC!!! And Carrie Fisher. OMG. The kiss scene on the Falcon:eek: Why oh why did they leave out her saying "OK Hotshot" and the second kiss. Amazing. AMAZING!!!!

    More incredible, previously-unseen footage. 2:52 is a beauty, as is the Echo Base footage.

    Hope they do the same (40th anniversary) for Return of the Jedi.

    That restored behind the scenes footage is sweet, especially those unused alternate takes are breathtaking. The shot of the camera looking up at the Executor! What a treat.

    Oh wow that was impressive.

    I was lucky enough, near twenty years ago now, to see the actual Executor model in an exhibition--and it was just as huge and awesome as you can imagine. They literally don't make them like that anymore.
