Anyone else just feeling beat down? This has by far been the longest short week I've had in recent memory with work. Kind of ruins the whole holiday spirit for Thanksgiving.

Agreed @Bravo! And I still have one workday left. I'm rediculously positive in my spin with my coworkers in meetings. There are some weeks, though, like this, where even I have to say WTF??

I blew my top at work yesterday. Its been building to that point for over 2 years now and it went sky-high (colorful words that would make your mother blush). Just the pointless BS sometimes gets to me . I've been out of the fire department now for 11 years and there are times (not trying to sound offensive, although I know its going to come off that way) I can't understand how some people can have the jobs they do in the civilian sector. Sometimes people are just flipping idiots and it amazes me that the civilian world allows that to happen so...routinely.

Back in my FD days, you were hired, assigned, and promoted based on qualifications & experience to the job you had or wanted within the fire house, not because you're friends with management. And while my current particular job has those "expectations," our local governing state body that oversees our field only requires one person in management to have the qualifications (not everyone in the admin office). To say the least I'm dealing with someone in the admin office who lacks the qualifications and (in my qualified experienced opinion, having the required qualifications and extensive experience at previous jobs in our field for management) necessary management experience when they deal with us lowly pee-on employees. Its just frustrating when someone holds a position out of favoritism and not out of earned right and there's nothing you can do about it.
