After much thought I have decided to close The Coldest War. As a courtesy to you all I shall explain why below, but before I do I would like to thank all my players for their wonderful creative energy.

Who both looked over and gave feedback on the opening post as well as wonderful advice on how to be a great GM.

I am not one who likes to abandon projects, I would argue I'm not abandoning this one, but recalling it for some major reworking. As this was my first game as a GM there was naturally some road bumps to be expected. When I started coming up with this game I built the world first and didn't come up with the story until after I got the characters. As a result, in my view the game suffered. The vision was too broad, and too intricate for what I intended to do. There are other reasons as well.

I am not satisficed with the world building, the plot and am lacking an end goal in mind, coupled with the fact it by far coldest war updates consume the most time of anything I do on the boards, mainly due to poor planning on my part. I apologies and hope at some point in the future I will return with a more polished product. I want to make it clear the closure has nothing to do with any players, you all wrote your parts beautifully. I rushed the game out as I was eager to GM a game, and for that I apologies.

I am sorry to hear the closure of this game, it had such potential! But I thank you for the reasoning and can very much understand where you're coming from.

Plus, it's hard to run two games!

It is like night and day in terms of writing updates for Ryujin and Coldest War. LOL! Ryujin it just flows... and Coldest War is kinda three games in one, part of the reason I think it takes up so much time. (Yeah Puma I know you warned me...)

Yeah I think I will. Gonna let it sit and simmer in my head for awhile.

 

Dang!! I came in late, but was really hoping to partake of the building intrigue, however I completely understand and accept your reasoning. I look forward to a more polished product whenever it is ready.

Speaking of the Coldest War, I'm still in the process of reconstructing the game, not sure when that will be finished, a new year's launch would make the most sense to me but if the people are ready and if I'm ready then that's a different story

 

You sure? I don't think you've made it clear enough...

 

Super excited to dive back into this! Just need to be able to sit down and finish up the new touches. It’s hard formatting on my phone!
