    Honestly, this is the most exciting announcement to come out of yesterday's slate (which I still think was WAY too much to announce all at once, but I digress).

    And R2 and 3PO animated adventure just sounds very charming to me.

    I'm hoping for 11-4D in the Acolyte. Sidious and Plagueis inheriting a sardonic, pessimistic droid is why the EU deserved to exist.

    I’m really looking forward to this one, but a little surprised there hasn’t been any comment by Anthony Daniels about it yet. Wonder if it will have any cameos, name drops, etc., from the original Droids cartoon?

    I really hate his movie idea. The only thing that would make me like the movie is if both R2D2 and C-3PO die by the end of this film.

    Yes, this was announced as an animated project.

    A collaboration between Lucasfilm Animation and ILM sounds wonderful to me, on a technical level. Both sub-studios do phenomenal things on their own, and I can't wait to see what this collaboration looks like. I'd imagine that, given ILM's involvement, this is going to a more "realistic" style than previous animated Star Wars projects, but only time will tell.

    It would be great if they pushed the boundaries of animation here, but I'll also be satisfied with a good story. I'm wondering who the new "hero" will be?

    This hero will be getting special treatment being paired with two icons.

    Are there any rumors about who will direct? I'm generally not a fan of Tim Burton (too much weirdness just for the sake of being weird, IMO), but I think he might be able to make this story interesting.

    I'd prefer broom girl, a person of color, or an alien character. Broom boy was a strange choice IMO.
