Discussion Who Should Direct the Next/Future Star Wars Film(s)?

After tonight's episode of Mando, I have to say Jon Favreau should make the next SW movie.

He just knows how to make it feel like SW.

 

Though Favreau didn’t direct this past episode. He wrote it. That said, I think he should be given a shot at a film in the future, as he really does seem to get it.

 

I think Faveru/Filoni is the dream team for a new movie series/trilogy.

 

I still want Neil Breen to do one, just so he can cast himself as an all powerful Jedi Knight who hunts down powerful Sith lords who are all senators and members of government, for some reason. They'll explain how evil they are in parties that Jedi Master Breen will infiltrate. He'll be on the run from bounty hunters who always will say "eyes on Breen". Then, Mr. Breen will hijack the holonet and explain to the whole galaxy how he killed them all to make the galaxy a better place.

Oh and he'll have a brother in it and a scene with a tiger because why not and he'll dump blue milk in the ocean and eat cans of porg and oh god someone help me

 

If Darth Talon gets any traction thanks to the new Lucas tidbits, make a film about her directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.

Get weird. Really weird. Uncomfortably weird. Leave the theater weird.

 

Pair up Rian Johnson and Dave Filoni and you will have a God tier Star Wars movie.

 

How about Henry Sellick and the good people at LAIKA?

I think he's got his sights set on his own original projects, but if you were to conceive of a time traveling Star War, you hire Christopher Nolan. Accept no substitutes.

 

A Chow-Famuyiwa-Filoni triumvirate should make the next Star Wars film.

 

Or Stephan Moffat of Doctor Who.

I think Robert Rodriguez's direction of the Boba episode was notable. He did a great job, and that sort of thing looks like a good fit for his style. He might be a consideration for other projects and to eventually direct something bigger,

 

Rodriguez's was the worst-directed episode of the season, IMO. Even though I enjoyed the heck out of it. Famuyiwa came along the next episode and showed him how directing is done:
