Just imagine the other Bonds' delivery of this line.

Lazenby's would have been an oddly-placed post-production dubbing.
Moore's would have called too much attention to itself.
    Dalton's would have been overly-dramatic.
Brosnan's would have been okay enough, but nullified by the crappiness of the scene itself.

Only Connery (and Craig) could nail this sort of thing.

I'm partial to one of Bond's very first post mortem ripostes, in Dr. No: "They were on their way to a funeral."

David Niven would have nailed it, though.

10/31/20 is the date of Connery's passing. Add that up and use the two zeros and you get 007.

You can't really ask for a better studio to be making this game.

I've been saying this for years - I/O is the ideal developer for a 007 game given the style, gameplay path styles, pacing and overall tone of their Hitman games. This shouldn't be hard for them.

I'd take an original story with a new I/O Branded Bond as the lead. But feel free to swing big and get a name actor for it, though.

Personally, I hope they do an original story with a past-Bond.

Kind of like a lost Brosnan film.

But, in terms of marketability, I suppose it makes more sense for them to cast Craig or just create their own 007.

The project could possibly be released in around 2023 to coincide with the announcement of a new Bond and use his likeness.

There's a few ways this could go.

Everything or Nothing videogame to me is the lost Brosnan film. Willem Dafoe as the baddie and he says the title!

    Yes.
EON is either the perfect substitute for Die Another Day or the much needed fifth film to properly close the Brosnan era.

William Dafoe was also the villain in speed 2 cruise controll

I wish they did a fifth Brosnan film

I refer to it as the magic number 7

Connery and lazenby together did 7 official films

    Moore did 7 films

Dalton and Brosnan should have done 7 films total thus a fifth Brosnan film but id even settle for a third Dalton film

Then the newest bond would try and do a new series of 7 007 films

But its wishful thinking I guess

Im a big Brosnan fan so

Brosnan left the franchise unhappy, with our without Die Another Day.

Didn't they start talking about doing Casino Royale while Brosnan was still around?

I've seen Goldeneye a bunch and aside from the irritation with Die Another Day that is long lasting, I totally forget Tomorrow Never Dies and World is Not Enough so may give those a shot. Added all the Bond movies to Crave in Canada last week! It's like a movie was supposed to come out or something.

As much of a bummer having to wait longer is, this is a smart move for the production. The way Bond films are financed, I doubt EON Productions could make a streaming deal profitable because no streaming service would be willing to pay EON enough to make it worth their while. And there are probably other limits already in place from MGM and the two distribution companies.

The only way Bond is a financial success that doesn’t sink EON is with a worldwide theatrical release. We may never see box office numbers like we did from 2009 to 2019 for films again, but theaters will bounce back a lot from where they are now. But not enough by April to make Bond work. I hope by November 2021 we can all go back to the movies safely.

Watched "Tomorrow Never Dies" which I'm fairly certain only saw once 24 years ago on VHS rental. It's kind of great, definitely fulfills Bond movie requirements. I think 17 year old me thought that remote controlled cars and Fake News manipulating supervillain was too outlandish.

If there was ever a Bond movie I'd want remade, it would be TND. Great premise, but everything is drowned out in machine-gun fire. I hated how the Brosnan-era turned Bond into a one-man army. The guy's an assassin, not Rambo. (It's one of the many things I love about Dr.No/FRWL Connery, Lazenby, and Dalton. They were tough SOB's, but you never saw them take on more than three guys at once. There was always a limitation to their abilities.)

The opening jet scene is very Bond as one man army, great bit that feels like OG spy Bond is the one-on-one scene with the assassin Dr. Kaufman in the hotel room. "Wait, I'm just a professional doing my job!" "So am I."

Also solid Moore-era quip by Brosnan when the goon is killed via printing press and blood splatter on the newspapers: "They'll print anything these days".

I thought the helicopter facing downwards trying to chopper blade Bond to death and the whole Bond and Wai-Lin handcuffed together on the motorcyle is a pretty great action scene.

Johnathan Pryce's Carver is sort of an amalgamation of a few things, he looks very Steve Jobs-ish and the media manipulation premise gets oddly more prescient nowadays than 24 years ago. And Pryce is always awesome at anything. And he gets drilled to death!

Liked if only for indication that they moved it slightly earlier this time instead of like a month.

At this point they might as well push it back a few more months and release it in time for Dr. No's 60th anniversary.
