Spider-Man because Bruce Wayne is terrible. Put the superior Dick Grayson in the batsuit and then you have Spider-Man vs Spider-Man

Just to bring the films into this: I enjoy the Sam Raimi Spidey films but find the Nolan Batman films better. Both heroes have cool stories, cool outifts, interesting powers, etc.

Hmmmm. Ill vote for Batman though but its close, like real close.

I voted Batman for the long term in that I’m a bigger overall fan of most of his stuff vs Spiderman’s... But I’d say the current status quo is closer to favoring Spider-Man, because they finally managed a successful “Spider-Man family,” and as much as Joe Quesada’s hatred of the Spider Marriage is still a farcical waste of his energy and the character’s current comics premise... Dan Didio did more damage to the Batfamily overall.

They’re both awesome sets of comics, cartoons, games, and movies.

It’s just that in sum total, if I can include *all* the best spinoff media and “family” members from all time, it goes to Batman... but currently, a bunch of the family is struggling because Didio couldn’t leave well enough alone (The New 52 screwing up the Robins and Batgirls for no good reason after Didio already spent quite a few years trying to destroy the Batgirls previously, and pushing 5G so much he alianeted even more creators) until he should have (letting Tom King spend a year building up to a fake-out marriage on a Batman and Catwoman story that wasn’t quite strong enough to justify it.)

Yeah but the Disney Marvel Spider-Man movies are better than the Raimi ones. Especially Homecoming.

The fact that it’s even close is an indictment of Batman, dudes got billions of dollars of inherited familial wealth and does basically nothing in the day to day operation of his company so he can spend more time punching people and the amount of good he’s done is comparable with a broke teenager doing part time community service work? For shame.

Batman creates his own tech CHECK
Spidey creates his own tech CHECK
    Batman has no powers --------
    Spidey has super powers CHECK
Batman loses loved ones and closes off emotionally
Spidey loses loved ones and still remains an optimist

Both have great music, but Spidey has lyrics.

Both depend very much on the writer

    So do Batman

(not the most advanced lyrics I admit, but they are there)

I mean Spider-man is a better person, but Batman is a more honest characterization of American society.

Both are cool for very different reasons. I'll vote Spidey, if only for his sense of humor.

I know Spider-man is supposed to be the more personable hero that most can relate to, but to me that personality is a little too over-the-top; I kind of relate more to Bruce Wayne's more down-to-Earth/get-to-the-point characteristics. And his sense of humor is more dark and witty; it'd have to be that or else he'd never get the edge on the Joker. I'd imagine Peter Parker would be peeing his pants laughing at every fart joke coming out of the Joker's mouth.

I accidentally voted for Spider-Man in the poll but I meant Batman. I think the takeover of popular cinema by (mostly) braindead superhero movies was one of the worst developments of the 2010s. At least the idea of Batman is halfway plausible. Spider-Man? Not so much.

In Heroes Reborn, his archnemesis is the Green Goblin, his partner the Falcon was killed in the identical fashion as Gwen Stacey, Miles Morales is the 'new' Robin, Gwen Stacey is the Bat-Girl equivalent, he had a relationship with the Black Cat, he wore the Venom suit, and so forth.

I was just having a similar discussion with my brother-in-law on the 4th of July.

We discussed how 3 characters have the greatest claim to the title "Best Superhero Ever". Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. They are the indisputable icons, and they're staying power is the proof in the pudding.

I voted Spidey, because I always vote for "the little guy" over the one-percenter with man-pain. :)

    (Love ya, Bats)

Batman for me. I watched the original movie with Michael Keaton at the theater and loved every minute. I love the dark back story he has which gives his character depth. I actually even enjoyed the 2 different Batman movies after Michael Keaton left. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. I do enjoy the movies with Christian Bale as well. Not as much as Michael Keaton. Maybe it's my childhood nostalgia but he can't be beat.
