First of all, ignoring is a one-way thing. The other person can still see your posts and respond to them. There's some people I ignore because everything they post is unintelligible garbage, so I don't care that they can see what I post, but there is one person I set on ignore because I don't like how he responds to me. Ignoring does not prevent that. Also, on Tapatalk, which is what I use to look at the forum when I'm on my phone, it shows where the ignored post is in the thread and makes it very easy to click on it. (Unlike on the desktop site, where it just has a little thing at the bottom.)

I guess you have answered my question unwillingly.

I was coming to this topic to ask if by ignoring someone it means that they won't be able to read my posts, but sadly the answer is I guess no.
Will this ever be an option? Can we make it one? I haven't needed that in 2 years that I've been posting here, but now I kinda do.

If it's that bad, perhaps contact a mod to get some perspective?

I used to put some people on ignore years ago at this point. I think if you have them on ignore you won’t get alerts from them so for all intents and purposes you wouldn’t know.

Plus I think the reason it’s like this is so it doesn’t tip the person off that you ignored them. Ignoring someone is kinda supposed to be anonymous in that they wouldn’t be able to tell unless you literally said to their face I put you on ignore stop quoting me

Happy news is that the untruncated tales of the archive seem to be here after disappearing in 2019.=D=

Thanks! I'm amazed about the why and the how but v. v. pleased with the what aspect of the resurgence. Somebody on Snowflake Challenge said they read a fic there last month, so the event occurred between March 2019 and December 2020.

How many people can you tag at once? I think it’s around 6 but I am not sure

I think it's 5 for regular users. Mods can do 10.

I've tagged more than 5 in RPG threads, lots of times.

I think you can tag an unlimited number, but notifications might not be sent if the total exceeds the limit.

Yeah the notifications will only go to the first 5 but you won't get an error message if you tag more. They just won't get the alert.

Asked this in the Username Change thread but will repost here because I want to know. ;)

I'm seriously considering opening a new account, but only if my current conversations don't have to be restarted ... if I just had a new username assigned, the current conversations would be active and accessible under the new name. The conversations are for collaborations and role playing.

opening a new account, would mean just that, everything will be brand new. Blank posts, blank conversations, blank alerts. As far I know there is no way to transfer conversations from an old account and to a new one, and even if there was I would assume it would be easier and a less technical headache to simply change a username. The only other thing you could do is paste everything into a new conversation, but that would be too time-consuming, for me at least.

Thanks, that's what I pretty much figured. Just hoped I wouldn't have to do stuff from scratch. :p @};-

Is there a way on a particular thread to find out one's first comment on it, to maybe 2019?

Depends. Do you think you have less than 200 posts in the thread?

    Go to the thread
    go to the search icon
click on " more.... " (you'll get to an advanced research window)
in "keywords" write the most unique word of the title.
write the name of the poster you want to know about in the proper place
    click to "Most recent"
    click to "search"
go the the last comment of the last page

    That's the first comment.

Okay if it’s less than 200 just go to the search function for usernames put in your username and then click this thread only that should pull up your last 200 posts in that thread or less

You can check the exact number of posts you've made in a thread by hovering over your little profile picture on the lower right of the thread creator's profile picture, like this:
