Amph Marvel's Loki [Disney+]

A Loki TV show will be available on Disney Plus starring Tom Hiddleston

 

I know that everyone likes Loki, and he is one of the better Avengerverse villains, but could he sustain an entire TV show by himself?

 

Shows have been sustained with less. Much less.

 

Oh, OK. If it’s more like a miniseries, that’s different.

 

Oh boy.... I am so down for this.

 

Premiere date: 11-Jun

Falcon and the Winter Solder runs from 19-Mar to 23-Apr (six episodes) so that leaves 7 weeks between content -- with Black Widow still scheduled for 7-May.

 

Hopefully Black Widow doesn't get pushed back. I really hope to see that film soon and in a theater.

I don't have the same level of anticipation for Loki as I did for Wandavision and now Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but I be there when it drops. Probably because I feel like I see this type of show in Quantum Leap, Legends of Tomorrow, Sliders and others in the like. And probably because there isn't much of any comic book stories/source material that this series is based or inspired by, unlike Wandavision. I'm sure the MCU will make Loki a great series. I just don't have a large amount of anticipation for the time being.

 

I do think Black Widow will come out in May now as expected. I think Disney has locked in and the vaccine roll outs likely fill them with confidence that they can get at least a portion of the audience back in theaters. I DO however think they will (likely right before Loki's release) offer a Disney + option to rent it for $30 since it will have been in theaters for a full month by then. But yeah, I think shifting Loki to Jun is a part of this plan.

 

Wellllll.... IIRC, isn't the TVA one of the primary monitors of the multiverse? I'm sure that won't be at all connected and/or useful...

I hope so. It would be a shame if a founding member of the Avengers, Black Widow, doesn't get a true theatrical release. Especially, since it is figuratively and literally very long over due. It's a really good sign that theaters in New York will be reopening in a few weeks.

Yeah, perhaps.

But, I don't think the TVA will spread into the rest of the MCU; like being a factor with Kang. I feel like they'll be contained just to the Loki series. I feel like the TVA will just monitor Loki, but not the multiverse. I believe Doc Strange will have dibs on monitoring the multiverses.

Yes, but the point is more along the lines that the MCU threads clog up the front page to a similar degree that the +1 threads did before being moved. And despite reading all the MCU threads and enjoying them, I totally understand why they'd be annoying to non-MCU fans

But now I'm going to use the time stone and re-close this particular can of worms.
