A new contender I just found was @Leia. Not the oldest, but definitely up there with a early August 1998 registration date

 

So how did this place get started ? Did it evolve out of something else ?

I lurked here from spring of '04 until I ultimately joined at the end of 2012. Lurked in 3SA to start off with, then the amphitheater, and then the JCC. I don't really have a reason for why it took so long to join besides crippling social anxiety.

 

He, Scott, and a couple of others had their usernames registered prior to the July 8th 1998 opening date, and in the oldest BB system their reg dates were missing altogether, while in the IGN board era they all had reg dates of June 25th 2000 as placeholders.

 

I'm still here, though I come and go like the wind.

 

I know I've been here quite a while; in fact, I was here before we changed into the new system. I just can't remember what year.

 

I'm just surprised there were enough people who were aware enough of me to put me on the list.

 

Some of those names bring back good memories. Some real nice people like Jedi Speewwy. She was pretty cool.
This is the first message board I was ever a part of, and it was a lot of fun back in the day.

 

I'm still here. I think the JC and TFN were offshoots of the Star Wars group at Texas University back in 1998. It was started by Scott, who was the original administrator.

 

That was almost 8 years ago, so I must be pushing 103.

 

Guys your reading far to much into this list. I literally found it from some random thread. Even when I do try to make a comprehensive list for something dumb like every user to have 1,000 points or more it’s probably way wrong.

honestly I think the two oldest accounts I know of are @Sarge and @Kyle Katarn and that’s only off memory. I am sure some of you will make me look very stupid in a bit.

Wow. I had forgotten that thread. It was iconic even while it was active.
