I really think the Nebulon B Temperance in Shadow Fall should not be retconned into the MC75 Temperance.

First, let's take a look at this passage. This is in reference to the Temperance.

What, are they just going to completely excise this paragraph in future printings?

Let's not also forget the size and power difference between an MC75 and a Nebulon B. There's no way that Shadow Wing's ore freighter would have been able to survive against an MC75. This isn't something where you can just change the name of the class of ship and everything else is still the same. The end battle would have to be completely

 

Sounds like a major editing error, to me, anyway. Wouldn't be first time two ships with same or nearly same name were active at same time - still, a bit awkward.

 

I think perhaps the Temperance in Squadrons was originally going to be a Nebulon B, they passed the information onto Freed, he wrote the book, then somewhere along the way it got changed to an MC75.

Well, with Squadrons being released this Friday, I am bumping in hopes of new named ships appearing. If they take a cue from the classic LucasArts flight sims like X-wing and TIE Fighter, the HUD should identify the class of the ship AND the name of it. If they do that, I will spend each mission cataloging the names of the individuals capital ships.

I have a pretty complete list of every Alliance and New Republic captial ship for Legends.

 

They don't have a comprehensive list of these things on Wookieepedia?

 

They end up being deleted at some point and then you have to go looking through the categories, which are a mess themselves.

 

I'm hardly the largest contributor to this thread but IMHO Wookieepedia's issues with canon articles being sourced by non-canon sources make it less than ideal for projects like this. I would absolutely not assume the accuracy of any list they provide, as far as canon goes anyway.

Just to confirm. This is strictly canon sources...movies, TV series, canon books....no RPG or video game sources....unless there is a canon novel like Battlefront 2.

Video games are canon.

 

Internal campaign stories like Inferno Squad's in Battlefront II and Cal Kestis' journey in Fallen Order though for Canon.

 

Would in-game assets (like an environment or a character model, etc) be considered canon?

 

Sorry, I meant to say that video games in the current canon count. BFII, Squadrons, etc.

The only things off limits are Legends and stuff with unclear canon status, like FFG’s various RPG’s and games.

That is what prompted my original question...the game itself or the novelization of the game is canon.

They really need to pull some concept art or an old ship not brought back into canon yet like the Harrow and say "that's the Qaz-class."

 

There is no novelization of Battlefront 2. The book is a prequel to the game and is canon. The single-player campaign is also canon.

 

I am not a video game guy...all I know from them is the books.
