John Morton who played Dak in ESB also was a stand in for Jeremy Bulloch for some scenes earning him the nickname on set of "Bespin Boba"

In ESB, what scenes would Bullock need a stand-in for. If he played Boba in the Mandalorian definitely could see it, but in ESB?

I would say it was cause Bulloch was maybe on a break or otherwise not available.

Carrie Fisher certainly rocked that bikini back then. She looked incredible.

Some amazing images in this thread, a lot that I have never seen before. These productions were so well documented.

I think John Morton stood in for Boba Fett / Bullock, whilst he (Bullock) did his scenes as the Imperial Officer with Carrie Fisher?

^ That scene directly above. It was only recently that I noticed something, due to better definition copies being available digitally. When Luke pulls his gun from the holster, Boba Fett hears the click and looks towards him. That's how he knows to come back and start shooting. On older prints I always assumed that Boba keeps looking directly ahead as he walks past as it wasn't easy to see that he turns his head, but he does.

Yes, I noticed that too when the films were released on BD, and especially now in 4K.

A detail that was lost in the final edit. Boba appears to have heightened senses whilst inside his 'suit of amour'. Just watch the 40th EMPIRE anniversary video, there's an outtake of the bounty hunters waiting for Vader to greet them - Boba is the first of the bounty hunters to sense the presence of Vader - from a considerable distance behind them.

I do not have details on all the specific scenes he stood in for but that image I posted is cited as one of them.

I hear you on Carrie but I understand the site management prefer it if that aspect is not focused on too heavily.

My intent with sharing any of these images is for the documenting of the process that is largely unseen.

It’s a lovely pic, and my favourite scene from the film - love the film score used here.

Star Wars Emperor Palpatine Throne Chair
A quick sketch of the Emperor’s chair on the same page elicited a signed response from Lucas: “I like this.” Johnston followed up with a more detailed study , without a footrest.[IMG]

I find it interesting that at some point somebody changed the leather pattern on the chair so the back matched the seat, instead of having contrasting strips like in Joe Johnston's sketch and the initial sculpture.

They also carried the padding up to the very top of the chair, whereas in the sculpture there was a dark void that framed the crown of the Emperor's head, rather like an anti-halo. Was that meant to have a glowing panel installed at one point like in the Johnston sketch? I can see how that might make lighting his face difficult on set.

The early designs for the Emperor's throne appear to be armed with a gun?
